Mattel MOTU Chronicles Movie Figures

What I believe is that if Scareglow is in the movie and he looks like that, I will be fine with it.

I was going to post this but I thought I'd let someone else broach the topic because I honestly couldn't tell if it was real or AI. It looks damn good for an American retail release. Damn good.

I feel like these are for sure AI (Skeletor and Scareglow). The toys themselves have that ever so slight AI look. If I'm wrong, I will be fine with that and totally buy these. But I really feel confident these are fake AF.

I've seen so many AI fakes recently, pictures of figures in manufacturer packaging that look "too good", and that's the tell....they look too good. I know within a second of looking that it's fake. This one is stumping me though. I'm going to play it safe and call "fake". I'm with you.

It's on! These are as fake as my Doctorate in physics. Doesn't keep me from teaching physics at Stanford University weekdays 9:00 AM to 3:00PM, quite convincingly. But it's fake, nevertheless. Much like these figures.

Or they're real, I don't fuckin' know.

I asked on the FB thread that I originally saw this. Someone told me, "It's real. These were posted on Reddit."

OH! Say no more. I've never posted on Reddit in my life and I'm pretty sure I've never even been there. Is that supposed to be like the one place online where you can safely guarantee everything you see to be 100% real? Because I don't know.

I just don't know.

Of course, now that the information is actually relevant, I can't remember a damn thing about it, but a while ago- maybe a year-ish? I distinctly remember there was a figure or two "found" somewhere. Don't remember where, don't remember what line it was- maybe a DC thing? Anywho, the poster played it off as having "found" this mysterious new figure at a store, only for it to turn out that they were a customizer who was just, like, self-promoting. They took some of their customs into a store and did a little photoshoot. Maybe that's what's going on here?

I can't recall the last time something just hit the shelves without being announced in some way shape or form. Feels like it's been a decade or more. Would be awesome and quite nostalgic if it turned out to be true, but something just feels off here. Yet another reason why I despise AI- can't even trust your own eyes half the time.

Is it confirmed by Mattel that all Chronicles figures are movie-based? As cool as this looks as a supposed action figure, I don't see how this look works in a live action, big budget movie. I guy in a black body suit with a skeleton overlay? No way.

If real, those two figures basically account for full-on sub-lines (neither package is movie-themed) that apparently are already finished production and sitting in store warehouses, but haven't even been -hinted at- by Mattel. If it's real, it's VERY fucking strange.
And here we are... basically 1 year into the domination of society by AI and we already never know if what we're looking at is real anymore. Good times to be living in. Not a fucking worthless hellscape at all. Thanks techbros.
