McFarlane DC Multiverse

I know I'm checking out on this line because I'm not tracking release dates as closely anymore, but I really wish there was a more clear release schedule. there's a solid 5-6 characters from those most recent previews I would pay full price set it and forget it at any retailer if someone would just let me give them money.

I like detours. I don’t like politics intruding into one of the places I go to get away from it. Politics is literally the only detour to this point I’ve objected to.
But I seem to be in the minority here. I’m not certain what good it will do to discuss this on a forum for toys, when there are so many other avenues do discuss it, so I’ll bow out.

You can start talking about toys at any time. Indeed, this thread had moved on already, as threads are wont to do.

But to be clear: if the request was “ban any and all political talk from this thread”, the answer is “heard and noted: request respectfully denied.”

I’m truly not interested in alienating you here, and I strongly suggest that you simply scroll by and ignore content that does not interest you.

And please hear me when I say that I wish the world was not in such a state that “politics” have invaded all parts and places of our lives. It gives me absolutely no pleasure. But it is what it is.

And with that, let’s move on, please.

At this point I’m in for a penny, in for a pound. We know of 24 figures coming up, I’m in for 21 of them. In the lull, I’ve been reviewing some of the sites that compile the lists of McFarlane figures. Trying to figure out if there’s anything else I need/want that’s been released already. Outside of the outrageous SDCC purple Beast Boy, I think I’m good to go. In the final year, if Todd doesn’t take his foot off the gas, I won’t either. Vigilante, Black Condor, and Gangbuster are straight out of my fever dreams. Todd keeps this going, he’ll make my final year of collecting an absolute pleasure.

Life changes quickly. For various reasons, I find myself temporarily semi retired. I still have plenty to occupy me, but DCM is the only line I collect and continues to be one of my favorite distractions. I just want this last year to be fun.
 
I kept hoping better pictures would emerge for the Black Canary render reveal - are people happy with that look? Looks like most of the elements of the character are present - glad most of her legs are fishnets and not the crap leg re-use Zatanna got.

I'm not checking the thread every day and I got really irritated with a few recent (well, recent as in the past 18 months) hard to get figures but the fact that the line is cranking out a bunch of my most-wanted characters has me really wanting a better way to make sure I don't miss 'em. Like, legitimately half my top ten list from when Todd got the license is coming out in soon.

I think the only "man I hope the line doesn't end before we get them" character I can think of who hasn't been announced is Saturn Girl to finish the core Legion trio.

Not gonna lie, I thought he was going to skip her entirely, so I'm okay with that look. Unless she's a half-inch taller than any of the Ollies.

I’m personally OK with this look. Doesn’t much matter as she’ll be folded into the warm embrace of the JSA regardless. 😎 The Platinum will almost inevitably be the SA/BA version from The Justice League of America that everyone wants. This is one of the few times when I’m actually contemplating buying a case for the Platinum. I suppose it’s also possible that the Platinum could be the GA version of Black Canary making the release into two distinct characters, not two distinct costumes. And yeah, there are some noticeable differences between the SA/BA costume and the GA costume. Perhaps like the recent Mr. Terrific and Guy Gardner, there might be two variants.
