Mattel MOTU Chronicles Movie Figures

Isn't Mattel sending someone a wrong figure how we found out about the existence of one of the Origins figures last year? Or did they send him one that had already been known but just wasn't out yet?

Just a random observation here, Masterverse Scare-Glow was on the smaller side of the Masterverse line. So I wouldn't take the size comparison with that specific figure too seriously - at least not yet.

On an unrelated note, I do wish the bigger toy companies would acknowledge the modern world and develop some sort of rapid-response marketing team to deal with leaks. Unless there's some sort of agreement with a retail partner (like, there's a Target exclusive and Target wants it revealed as part of a special Collector event), then the company might as well confirm one way or the other and announce the figures.

The figure itself seems real. Now whether its a custom i dont know, but I think its a physical item.

The box art looks like leftover MV art, so it could have been originally designed for that and shifted over or somesuch. As for the size; having Scareglow be on the large size, especially if not played by an actor in the film, isnt the worst idea ever.

I HOPE it's real, it looks awesome.

Yeah, I still don't know about this. Mattel sent me a defective Masterverse figure, so to make up for it they sent me an unannounced figure from a line that hasn't come out yet? On purpose? (He literally said they offered him the Chronicles figure.)

If that's true, it might be the absolute wildest shit I've ever heard from Mattel and I guarantee someone would get fired.

I agree that doesn't really pass the smell test. But if its a hoax or something its incredibly elaborate.

We know Scare-Glow was likely scheduled for Masterverse based on the art that came with one of the more recent figures (I can't remember which). Masterverse Scare-Glow being a leftover MV figure that gets added to Chronicles would make sense.

At the very least, I don't believe that it's a pure AI creation because the images are too consistent for that shit. The figure appears to have the same sloppy paint marks from pic to pic, too.

One thing about that Scare-Glow is that it appears to have the new ball-jointed torso and butterfly shoulders of the movie figures.

When I was sent a defective Lightning Collection Remastered Yellow Ranger, Hasbro downgraded me to a Yellow Ranger from the kiddie line ($15 cheaper than the one I bought). If Mattel upgrades buyers with unreleased product, that's really something.

Yeah the wrists are the new style too, I noticed that as well. But I mean there were rumors of a Chronicles line awhile ago; Maybe the Masterverse line was always meant to transition over and the design style updated. I mean the New Eternia stuff was an update on the Animated style they started in, so its not out of the question.

I dunno it's all very odd.

The fact that there is no real consensus about either of these figures being real or fake after multiple analyses of people who are basically experts in MOTU and internet use, shows we are ROYALLY screwed. Imagine something that is ACTUALLY important in the real world comes up and there are questions about the legitimacy of the audio/visual proof. Now imagine people who are not experts in internet forums, faking things, or of the subject of the topic in question trying to figure out what's real or what (or worse WHO) to believe. :(

My guess is that they are both real. What are the odds that they both happen so quickly and have very similar design motifs on the box. It would almost have to be coordinated.
