I didn’t think it was being disrespectful, just my observation that the article is pre-Elliot. It’s been a while since I’ve seen them referred to as Ellen.

I'm inclined to argue that, particularly with outback Psylocke rumored, training suit Kitty is the biggest hole in the ML X-Men line-up. I'm hoping that the recent New Mutants love will get us a female training uniform buck that can be used for her.

My thought is to put Kitty in a standard wave and release a powered-up Magma and a werewolf Wolfsbane figure concurrently (maybe in a boxset with the remainder of the New Mutants). Include depowered Amara Aquila and Rahne Sinclair heads with them, incentivize people to buy multiples of Kitty. Slam dunk.

And then get me an N'Garai demon:

I reread this ish annually around the holidays, and every time I do, it makes me want this guy more!
 
I would really love if the old school training suit uniforms were represented accurately when they get to them - by which I mean slightly baggy and not as skin-tight/form fitting, particularly through the torso. That means new sculpts, not just reusing old bodies and painting them on. I don't have X-Men '97 Sunspot, but the animated/smoother styling seems to work in favor of this look, though not exactly there.

Between the OG/FA X-Men, Kitty, and the New Mutants, it seems like there is plenty of reuse potential if they were to make a few sets of vintage-style training uniform bodies. These characters could share the same bodies:
  • Jean, Dani Moonstar/Mirage, and Magma
  • Kitty, Karma, Wolfsbane, and Magik (though she'd need some upgrades)
  • Cyclops, Angel, and Cannonball
  • Sunspot, Cypher, and depowered Iceman.
  • Beast and snowy Iceman would need to be all-new.

Wishful thinking on my part, especially with the rumored/teased Cannonball/Cypher set likely just being a headswap on a body that won't be right for either of them. Would be great to see them get this right, though!

Just getting them all to have the same shade of yellow plastic is probably asking too much even now.
