NECA 2012 Turtles

I wrote NECA support last Wednesday over the fact that they assigned the same tracking number as my single Michelangelo figure to my package with the other three turtles, similar to the BS a number of the rest of you have said happened to you. I've mentioned to customer support that I have problems with people stealing packages off my front step and need to have some idea when to expect that package.

After some back and forth over the past week, I STILL don't have a new tracking number. They said they'll get me a tracking number when they have it. How can they not have a tracking number if they shipped it a week ago? Who knows if they even shipped it at this point, or if it'll show up any day now.

I'm literally having to check my Ring notification every time it goes off in case it's the package. I saw a FedEx truck deliver a package across the street, and FedEx has delivered my packages there before. Is that my package or theirs? How would I know? The last package came via USPS so maybe not FedEx, but some of you guys seem to indicate that they used FedEx for your deliveries.

This is all very, very, very frustrating.

I would definitely be more uptight about the situation if I didn't already receive my Walmart order for the same figures. But I also don't want to be out like $200 from NECA. I really need to stop making the mistake of ordering from them directly. I still have the new Last Ronin young turtles on order from them and I don't want to deal with a repeat headache. I've been lucky with exclusives being fulfilled, but never again will I order something that will be available anywhere else.

If I had known they'd be readily available on Walmart like a week or so later (and BTW, I ordered Shredder and another Michelangelo from there and already have them), I definitely wouldn't have ordered from NECA. I've heard too many horror stories and now I'm dealing with one of my own. As disappointed as I am in them, I'm a bit disappointed in myself as well since I should have known better. Their bad reputation definitely preceded them.

Now the turtles don't seem to be available anywhere any more and I'm having to cross my fingers NECA hasn't entirely screwed me.

Yeah, I admit they got me with the free shipping and by having Shredder "available." I didn't want to do the hunt for these.

It does seem like most of the orders through Walmart are shipping via FedEx, while NECA direct is using USPS more often. I don't think it's 100% that, not sure how that impacts your situation, Aggroninja.

It at least makes it less likely that the FedEx delivery to the neighbor across the street was my package. They sometimes keep stuff. So that's something, thanks.

EDITED TO ADD: Has anyone else who got the doubled tracking numbers gotten theirs? My Mikey was shipped on October 3 and received on October 8, so if the other three were really shipped on October 15 they're overdue now, presuming it was also sent with USPS.

I have one buddy that did.

None yet. I don't have any new tracking numbers that come up in FedEx or USPS tracking from NECA, so I'm hoping they actually DID ship when I got the email on the 15th.

Just a reminder that you can create UPS and FedEx accounts to see what shipments are on the way. I think FedEx requires a residential address, not sure about UPS. You can also sign up for daily notifications with USPS, which will generally show packages a few days out.

But that's still dependent on the info FedEx has which isn't always correct.

I've had work packages miss the account.

Last month, personal package, FedEx dude didn't ring me, so I said screw it, send it to the pick up point near me. Tracking showed it went to a different part of Toronto. Still does. Never got it. They never could trace or find it even at that other pick up. Had to refund. Then FedEx billed me tariffs fees on the phantom box. Still sorting that.

Just this week, two boxes due Monday. Guy doesn't bother, marks it as No Address. I call up (the app was down, probably that Amazon black out), ask to just get it from Staples. They say yes.

Later that night someone calls me and says they want my address and buzz code so they can deliver it. I gave that info, but also thought we just rerouted these 2 hours ago. He did not have that on their books.

I spent Tuesday going by the app saying that it was out for delivery. Never came. Wednesday. Never came. Tonight. One of them is at Staples. The other is back at the Depot with a note on the app saying they might send it back to the sender because they don't know how to get it to me.

I go to Staples. Get the one box. It has all their little handwritten additional labels on it: my original address and buzz code are on the original label. The handwritten update sticker has totally inaccurate address and totally inaccurate buzz code. What the.

I get my box. They don't have the second. I call. They tell me that the tracking says it's out for delivery. I say that's funny because it should be here with the other package that I routed on Monday, also my tracking says something totally different.

They told me that consumer and is not always correct. Clearly. But I'll probably get it tomorrow. Friday. It was due Monday. I transferred it to pickup on Tuesday.

Point is FedEx has been super f***** up for a while now, and even with all these stories, setting up the account doesn't mean anything when they just make the information up as they go.

I spent one summer working UPS 3rd shift loading. Nothing has changed, and it's all dependent on if people are actually scanning things or putting them in the correct spot. As you can imagine, it doesn't happen as often as we like to put our faith into these systems.

NECA Fulfillment and FedEx are like Butt Sweat and Tears. Two great tastes that go great together.

Can't speak to the accuracy of FedEx in Canada or anyone else's personal experience, but the info the FedEx site has shown me is always accurate. It is how I found the real tracking number for the 2012 TMNT figures when Walmart/NECA provided the wrong tracking number. And even if it is not perfect, some information is better than none...

However, just to be clear, I hate FedEx. They are the only carrier I have ever had deliver packages to the wrong house multiple times, and their customer service is absolutely useless when this happens, they take no responsibility whatsoever for ensuring the package is delivered to the correct location. Thankfully, I have good neighbors who returned the packages.

Then there was the time I paid extra to have a package delivered in the evening hours, since I had to be home to sign for it. However, they delivered it the next afternoon instead, and then the driver took the package back before I could bring it in because it wasn't delivered during the right hours of the day. One of the few time in my life I straight up yelled at people, including the driver and customer service. I, for a hot minute , considered calling the cops since the driver basically stole my package off of my property. Thankfully, it was redelivered that evening.

Took the package back because it wasn't the right hours? What the.
His scanner device/phone app (whatever he had) wouldn't allow him to scan it because it wasn't in the requested delivery window (apparently being a day late doesn't matter!) and he said he'd get in trouble if he left it. Don't ask me... Like I said, not a fan of FedEx.
