Dang, @Trunks3540. Did you, like, leave a Gypsy girl at the altar or something?
Now that you mention it, my ex fiance did joke around about voodooing (I know that's not a word) me into falling for her. And that relationship didn't end well. Maybe shes just now getting around to lighting my doll on fire or whatever.

Also, I did email BBTS about this one. Won't get a reply back until tomorrow. So we'll see if they have any reserves for this sort of thing. If not I can buy a loose one missing some pieces for the low low price of $32. And she just goes up from there.

@Trunks3540 insert a thin-but-sturdy probe into either end/edge of the ruby quartz piece and simply flick it outwards.
Use something like a watch/jewlers screwdriver or sculpting tool. If you don't have anything like that, you can easily fabricate one by hammering flat the end of a nail or heavy duty paperclip and slightly curving it.
Here is one I made, and use all the time...

I'm not even gonna post a big ass paragraph about this. I'm just over it at this point. Same box as the last fuckin 3 things that broke. And this is after it being in my fuckin house for like a week.

So, is it me? After not having much break in the last year? Or more? This is number 4. Something out of that box that straight up just broke, and this time right out of package.

*edit* Does Scott's red visor piece come out of the non screaming head?
Aw damn I'm sorry to see this, but no it's not just you, I noticed the same weak point and stopped bending the leg the moment i began to se a stress mark and feel it was on the cusp of shearing, I posted about it somewhere previously, seems they resculpted the thigh and shin but reused the knee of the old figure so it's too old and weak under the mechanical stress. Most people probably never pose her in much but a neutral pose because of the skirt restricting hip movement, but I think this is critical flaw in the figure, definitely not you. I think long term these Jeans will need a transplant knee from another figure, perhaps White Rabbit.

I did neglect to heat this knee up before I tried it, but because its been in my house for like a week, fairly close to my heater vent, and it didn't feel cold in the slightest. I heated up all of Scott's joints, and the rest of Jeans joints before popping them just to be safe. Also did it with the other ML figure I opened alongside them, Secret Wars Wolverine. Every single joint down the wrists got a little bit of heat treatment after Jean. Which also sucks cause she was the one I was looking forward to most of those 3.

They're using $#!ttier plastic, let's just be honest with ourselves. You've got a supposed "Maximum" / Premium figure going for $60 that has to have its shoulder's swapped with a $20 Black Panther figure because the bicep peg routinely rips. So after $80 and playing MacGuver you've got your supposed "premium" Deadpool. And for $40 boys and girls you can get yourself a Battle Damaged Spiderman with break away hip pegs, an immobile neck, and a Magic Card. Will the benevolence never cease?!?

So, I don't know what's up with BBTS but they still haven't emailed me back. So I went on Ebay and checked every chop shop I know of and found a pair of her legs for a fairly reasonable price and bought those. When I get them I'll make sure to heat up the joints before attempting to pop them. Worse case scenario I figure BBTS can't do anything anyway and I didn't miss out on them at a decent price. Best case, BBTS can somehow replace my other set and I have an extra set of legs for some custom later that I didn't have before. I just find it odd BBTS hasn't emailed me back yet.

I don't really enjoy opening toys as much as I used to because of ptsd from things like that happening. It really is just like work. The workflow of opening the figures is to first test every joint. And if there is ANY kind of resistance it gets heat IMMEDIATELY. If the joints are heated there is MUCH less of a chance of them snapping. They are more likely to rip or loosen up. When they are warm you can generaly get a feel if it is going to rip or if you can slowy work it out with more micro movements, more heat, or shock oil. Sometimes joints are just defective obviously.

I haven't had much trouble in the way of pinless elbows and knees as they usually work themslves out after heat. Usually if I do have a problem with them it is because I didn't heat the joint because I thought I could work it out without heat and then they snap.

My main problem with legends lately is terible swivel joints like in boot cuts, biceps and thigh cuts. Heating these joints does not free them. They get stuck and will start to tear if you tork them too much, and getting them off/tryng to repair whatever stupid faceting that is molded in for friction or molding errors or flashing that causes that is a PAIN IN THE ASS.

It is posible that certain factories or manufacturing processes/materials are more likely to cause breakage. That might be why you had so much break in one shipment.

I know the Hasbro Cartoon D&D line is so bad, I won't even try to POSE any of those figures without heating them up. That is how fragile those are. I Heated them up when opening them to get them to move, but they all seemed to sieze up again after I had stored them.

Had a little run in with them recently.

Received a big POL shipment, and in it, I had decided to order the He-Man and the MOTU Netflix cartoon He-Man and Skeletor, since they had them marked down to 4 bucks.

Get everything open and realize He-Man doesn't have his sword. I send an email with the picture from their own listing to them and say "Hey, missing this part. Could you remedy this?"

I explain that I opened it, and only then noticed that I never received the sword with the figure.

They message me back and ask for a photo of what I didn't receive in the package. Or rather, what I *did* receive.

I email back and say..."I did. In that first email. I showed you what was missing. I don't know how you want for me to provide a photo of what I don't have to you. Are you asking me to send you a picture of the figure sitting on my desk, sans the sword that it didn't come with?"

This is what they sent back:

"Hello again Rick,

I understand what part you are missing, I did specifically ask for a photo showing what you did receive. What we were looking for was a photo of the product showing you received it without the sword in the box. Since you already removed it from the packaging, that would somewhat defeat the purpose of my request.

It is important to send us photos of the actual product you received any time you run into a quality control issue like this. Preferably before opening it, so we can see it was not in the packaging when you received it. Without seeing this we cannot confirm if it was actually a quality control mistake, or if it fell out or was misplaced after opening the product. Please keep this in mind going forward, as we will always request photos or video of the problem if you report an issue with what you received."

First of all, I'm great at reading tone through text, so fuck you. Secondly, I mentioned right off the bat that I realized this after opening it. Not sure how you notice something missing before opening it, but...what do I know?

And I would like to reiterate: the figure was 4 fucking dollars. I was just seeing if you were going to set me right or if I had to buy another one. They agreed to send it, but Jesus here, people. Come on. Let's be so for real.

So... I think you are maybe overreacting to their e-mail. Given how many figure-swap returns I've seen hanging on pegs at Target I think it is reasonable to assume there are customers who lose a part or just want an extra who write to ask for a replacement. So I don't think its unreasonable to ask if you happened to notice and have a picture of the packaged item without sword.

And they ultimately took care of it, anyway, so complaining about their attitude seems a tad petty

It was a $4 clearance toy that it probably cost them more to ship to you than you paid fot it - so hassling with a sword that they now have to ruin another packaged figure to get was probably frustrating.

I don't know... Ive had over a hundred excellent interactions with BBTS so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on something like this.

...

...and the total for that shipment when all said and done was almost 1200 bucks.

$1,122.56 plus 74.90 in shipping and taxes, for a total of $1,197.46, to be exact. 46 items sent to me.

And I asked for a sword.

So...

Excuse the fuck out of me for wanting the part that I paid for. On a 4 dollar item. Out of 1200 dollar order.

I think I exercised considerable patience with them, considering that.

And if I so choose to be petty over their ridiculous demand for a photo of something that I don't have, that I didn't receive, that I didn't realize was missing until I opened it, and don't want attitude *at all* from their customer service over it...then call me Joan fucking Rivers, baby. I'll be petty all God damn night.

Sorry if I don't sympathize with the business that has an annual revenue of around 290 million as of 2024. I think they can spare my 4 dollar purchase, even with shipping...

BBTS has always done right by me. Its just odd they haven't emailed me back yet. Usually they're right on top of it, usually the next day at the latest. But its been 3 business days now so... it probably just has something to do with them being in Minnesota.
