X-Men '97

To be fair, I think the speed running of '97 Season 1 was because they were trying to cover a lot of ground while not knowing if they'd get any more seasons. It was very much a passion project, for better or worse. Knowing now that it's a hit does make me wish they'd slowed down the pace more, but I get why they didn't, and can afford to now moving forward.

Honestly, now I find myself just wishing they'd do more original stories and not just adapt stuff from the comics.

I wish they had put Jubilee in her Generation X uniform in this show. THAT would have been a worthwhile figure, rather than this redo of the BAF.

I think (pure speculation) that if they did that, people would be non-stop screaming for the rest of the Generation X members, so they avoided that. But visually, I agree that the GenX costume is far superior.

Not just that it’s superior (it is) but it would also fill a gap in the 616 collection. I’d definitely use it with the other Gen X figures and scratch her off the list of “to be made”.

I would not be shocked if Gen X became a thing by the end of the season, but since they're also jumping way forward to 2000s books it's possible they skip all of that.

It hasn't all stayed within 616 timeline continuity. They did the Phoenix Saga in the original series, so they can throw Gen X in wherever. But also, they seem to just be throwing different costumes in for the sake of it. There doesn't have to be an explanation for Jubilee in a red costume, just like there wasn't one for her in this black costume that is the newest costume of all the alternate looks this show has sported.

Wow. There’s not a single one of these I would buy a figure of. Talk about money saved.
Well, maybe Forge.

Disney ordered a second season while season 1 was still in production. It could have just been something as simple as not wanting to dump all that money into a single fiscal year etc.

I'd probably buy an animated Forge, Polaris, Havok, Psylocke and Colossus provided they maintained their 90s looks (well Colossus in uniform preferably).

I'm more or less compelled to buy anything Nightcrawler as well, but that Spiderman/Nightcrawler figure that came out recently was my first non-purchase of the fuzzy elf.

I'm hoping we get more season 1 looks too to finish that of. Jubilee, Beast, Civvies and powered up Sunspot, Rogue + Morph finale suits, Bastion, Sinister.

I'm also wondering if they could make any of the characters that cameoed too?
