Muppets (including The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock)

Finally got a cancellation email on all of my DST figures from BBTS. At least they are no longer lingering in my preorders.
Same. Still haven't gotten the cancellation email from entertainment earth for my pepe deadly set. Though I expect I will soon. I still think it's a huge shame how things turned out. I really hope that another company picks up the licence for muppets action figures wether it be neca or someone else. I'm trying to stay positive about that but I can't help but think about the long gap between Palisades closure and DST picking up the baton and worry

I was really hoping, at least, Sweetums would make it out. I guess I no longer need to wonder if any of them are coming. Although, there's still a chance NECA resolicits them, right!?!? It's healthy to never let this go, right?

I'd say it's the opposite. It's like hoping a loved one in hospice care in a coma, on life support is going to suddenly wake up and jump out of the bed. Just let it rest now, it held on as long as it could.

Reminds me of that movie The Boy Who Could Fly when one of the kids is having a breakdown in a thunderstorm, and he's digging up the dead GI Joes he had been burying in the yard all movie to cope with his dad's death, and his sister is begging him to let it go, and he's digging in the rain screaming about how the dad is alive.

I'll be honest it is weird how there's already a pop culture example of a action figure based mental breakdown over grief.

In other news the newest Wave of muppets Funko pops seem to be trickling out . I only ordered the to flocked pepe pop because he's My favorite Muppet and with the DST one cancelled it is the closest thing we will probably get to an action figure of him in this outfit at least for a while

I don't think I'll be burying my DST Muppets in the backyard, but I am actually hoping NECA makes some updated, Palisades-style Muppets. At this point, even I have to admit the DST line is done. With Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock figures fitting in scale, I'm more focused on the Palisades line now. I would like updated versions of the core Muppets to replace the more outdated figures from early waves.

Although, the slow pace of the Sesame Street line makes me concerned sales aren't what NECA was hoping for the line. If that line is selling well enough for them, they won't be starting an adjacent line. I hope the Sesame Street figures start getting solicited and released more regularly.

I never see the Sesame Street figures in Target stores, though the Count has been for sale online at their site more or less consistently since release. Bert and Ernie left Target pretty fast, but lingered at Best Buy and eventually went on sale, now are sold out. Ernie seems to be appreciating a bit.

I've seen tons of Universal Monsters, Predators, Gremlins, IT, Back to the Future, etc. hang around all stores that carry NECA. Gargoyles are at ROSS and on sale on different sites.

That's all to say, it doesn't seem like they are selling any worse than other lines that they've made a relatively large roster for. How deep they'll go with Sesame Street I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure we'll get everything they've teased so far as well as Cookie Monster.

I think what works in Sesame Streets favor is there is a crowd of people outside of Muppet fans that will pick up a couple just to ironically stick them around their display. I see a lot of pics of Bert, Ernie, and Count on Reddit.

Tariffs are probably making things pretty tricky though. I'm not sure if there is pressure from the big box stores to try to keep them around the $35 mark. BBTS is selling the count at $42.
