McFarlane DC Multiverse

Woof they best make a classic Ivy so I don’t have to buy that awful nu52 costume. Of course the “classic” Ivy will probably have green skin. Grr.

Agreed, it looks like a Zentai suit. The woman IS plants, just let her live in all her garden dept wonder. Not everything needs a redesign to look like an all-day wetsuit.

I still prefer the “Rappaccini’s Daughter”, toxic, psychopathic mass-murderer to the “Avatar of the Green” Ivy. I fucking *hate* that she has “powers” beyond being personally poisonous and also a genius botanist. And I utterly despise the inhuman appearance of the skin. She used to be this rad noir-ish character and actually EVIL. She’s on my short-list of “these Bat-villains are actual monsters” with Scarecrow and the Joker, and it saddens me to see her diluted and made “nice” and also given Swamp Thing-lite status. Bah.

I’m not as up on my Batman mythology as I should be, but what do you think of the theory that the original Pamela Isley has been replaced in continuity in a story that has yet to be told? I’ve seen it floated at least once in a comic, but can’t remember where. As for the changes in the character herself, perhaps she came off as a little too much like a female Scarecrow. What with all the poisons, toxins, and other stuff.

In terms of the figure, I don’t really have a preference as long as we get one. It would also indicate that we may be getting closer to Harley.

It would be great if they used that as an excuse to pour weed-killer on nuIvy and return the “original” to her nasty, HUMAN glory.

Cargo containers must’ve arrived. McFarlane Toys Drop Zone dates as follows:

12/16/25 TMNT wave 2.

12/17/25 DCM wave of Superman, Ice, Flash, and Rocket Red.

12/18/25 Elite Spawn figure.

Unknown item.

12/19/25 unknown.

Doubtful we see much of anything else between Christmas and New Year.

Saturn Girl! Yes! One of my - wait why does it say CHASE next to her name

Every time, Todd, Lucy and the football EVERY FUCKING TIME.

Any comic Ivy will be fine with me. As cool as she was as a true villain, I think she's one of those villains the world evolved around. Hard to make plant-lady a villain in a world where rich dickheads are choking us out, causing mass extinctions, and running all their toys on our fresh watch. All of Ivy's behaviors seem more reasonable in 2025 than they did sixty years ago.

Except the eco-terrorist stuff is 90s vintage. And even in B:TAS, it was an excuse to hurt people.
I just wish every villain’s (and especially every lady villain’s) rise to fame didn’t come with a need to make them anti-heroes or even “good guys”. A character can have a tragic backstory and even some relatable, reasonable motivations and still be fundamentally evil.

For the last few days it feels kinda like drinking from a fire hose. Reviewing…

Superman, Flash, Ice, and Rocket Red up for preorder on 12/17/25. Missing Larfleeze, and the Red Platinum Jack Knight, Gangbuster, and Black Condor II.

Confirmed at CCXP for the Collectors Edition wave, Black Canary, Vigilante, Nicholson Joker, and Captain Marvel Jr. Platinums look interesting.

And a bunch of new rumors:

Alan Scott/Solomon Grundy 2-pack
Aztek
OMAC
Deadman/Batman
Eclipso
Bronze Tiger
Miss Martian
Classic Robin
Bloodwynd
Martian Manhunter
Saturn Girl
Poison Ivy
Hawkgirl
Wonder Woman
Jorge Jiminez Batman

And evidently, several reissued figures for Ross. Whew.

EDIT: Forgot about the Batmobile.

I never saw Poison Ivy as a particularly sympathetic figure. To me she just came across as a single-topic nut like the Riddler or the Mad Hatter. Two Face is similar but I think his backstory excludes him for that reason. But Poison Ivy always came across as more a manipulation character, she loses easily in a standard fight once her ruse / manipulation is thwarted.

I know Jimeniz is just a rumor but I would find it hilarious if there are so many Batman molds out there that they could turn around a figure in mere months from publication but the freaking Absolute Batman that’s been running for a year has nothing.

Been thinking about this too. Maybe Todd was told to stand down regarding the Absolute characters. If not, maybe he’s working on something new-ish so as to not have to use the DKR mold for Batman. And frankly, Todd has scaled back considerably on the alt Universe stuff anyway. Superman/Authority is one of a small handful of figures of late that aren’t mainstream DC continuity.

Absolute Batman is a phenomenon. Straight up. Sales and media attention are all pointed in that direction. But under the radar, Absolute Wonder Woman has become one of the best superhero comics currently being published. Mythology flavored of course. And if Todd s able to produce these figures, that’s where I’d personally like to see him start. With Diana. She is the lynchpin of the Absolute Universe. She’s ultimately (no pun intended) going to be the one that will have to take on Darkseid. Eventually.

As far as I know, Philip Kennedy Johnson's Action Comics run is still in-continuity, and Morrison's Superman/Authority mini was part of that. It didn't narratively all fit, as per Morrison's usual, but it's part of mainstream DC continuity. The Warworld Saga omnibus even has it slotted in there in the correct order.
