Mattel MOTU Chronicles Movie Figures

Kinda reminds me of the voice he did for the Hatbox Ghost in the Haunted Mansion movie from a few years back. I guess if I have to be subjected to another Leto performance, it being behind a ghoulish visage is fitting and palatable.

Still, even as someone barely familiar with the franchise, if we don't get at least one "Myah!" from Skeletor, I'm gonna be bummed.

That trailer was incredible! I got emotional. I am so excited for this film, and all its merchandise. Did you guys see all the scheduled MOTU dates on the Mattel Creations Calendar? There are like 4 MOTU days. April 8th being the King Grayskull that Mattel alerted RicksNerdLife and no one else about, but who knows what those other items are. And one of them is a Triple dollar sign item! ($$$)

meaning it's $100 or more. Maybe that's when those art pieces come out though? The He-Man/Battle Cat and Skeletor/Panthor artist figures that is. But I don't know.

Waiting to show my wife, as well.

Instead, before she went in to work, I opted to show her the new Supergirl trailer.

Which highlights the bonds we have with our dogs. Spoiler alert, it shows Krypto being sick and potentially dying (we know he won't). I could have shown her the hype inducing MOTU trailer. But that's the trailer I showed her instead.

Which wasn't a great idea.

Because I wasn't thinking, and it didn't dawn on me that we just left a vet appointment for our 14 year old pup--who has been recommended to oncology. For lymphoma. Which, by pretty much all measures, is a death sentence.

And I showed her THAT trailer.

So...I made my wife cry while heading into work. Good job, me.

That said...I can not wait until she gets home so I can show her the MOTU trailer and get her hyped up for that.

I got to see the first trailer in theater this weekend ahead of Project Hail Mary, and I pulled to the edge of my seat. For that, and the latest trailer, I absolutely got emotional. Someone who loves MotU made this movie, and it shows. I honestly just can't even believe they're making something with this source material totally legit. There's no reason for this to work, for us, for a mass audience, but I think it's going to be really incredible. I out of my mind excited for it.

My girlfriend knows about MotU from me, but I gotta show her some episodes properly. She loves twin sibling duos a lot, so she'd definitely obsess over Adam and Adora. Shame they're only really on-screen together in those TV specials and select She-Ra episodes. I doubt she'd care for this movie much.

I never show her just trailers though, always just blast her with full movies basically every weekend.

I'm sorry to hear that about your Pup Rick. I hope things go as well as they can go, no matter the outcome. It's such a hard thing. But 14 years is a good run for a dog. So, you guys have done your best, sounds like you did a great job, and that's a wonderful thing for a wonderful creature.

I really appreciate that. Thank you very much. Not to derail the thread too much, but we have an oncology appointment on Tuesday for the poor guy to weigh our options. So, hoping for the best, expecting the worst kind of a situation. But like you said, 14 years is a good long time for our ol' boy, Strider.

And yes, to keep it swords and sorcery theme--that is 100% a Lord of the Rings reference in his name. 🙂

I'm really sorry about your pup, Rick. My Lulu turns eight today, and I've been through losing pets many times, so it always hits me in the gut when I hear about something like this. Still, I wouldn't trade the experiences I had with those babies for anything. It's always worth the heartache.

Oooooooh boy... I'mma need that and I bet I won't get it because Mattel sucks and hates me.
