Mattel MOTU Chronicles Movie Figures

Fuck that sucks.

I just put an Alcala head on the new 200x and it’s awesome.
I’d hate to lose that feature.
I mean, to be fair, if the new Scare Glow is any indication, we might not really need to look to the kids' line for head swaps and stuff like that. I can't see them doing something like a crazy Alcala Skeletor for the kids line and NOT doing it for Chronicles proper.

Review of Chronicles Tri-Klops and Core He-Man:

I have to say, Tri-Klops seems to be the weakest of this line already. Those legs look like awkward-early-2000s-Marvel-Legends legs. Honestly I really hate those legs.

And his visor doesn't rotate? Seriously? That's just wrong.

Most of the other figures - particularly Trap Jaw - look really good from this line, Trike was the one I liked the least from photos, so I'm not necessarily spooked...yet. But not a great start.

If true, that is absolutely bizarre for a Tri-Klops figure. Especially when it seems like it's designed specifically to allow for rotation.
I don't think I have any real problems with the figure based on that review beyond that fact that I just think he has the weakest redesign we've seen so far. I don't understand what I'm even supposed to be looking at with his torso. I don't like the design for the pants. I don't like that his only weapon is a big gun. Tri-Klops is one of my very favorite evil warriors, so I'm sure I'm also likely to just be way more critical. But this just doesn't seem like at all what I want from the character.

Yeah, I agree. After Trap Jaw he's my favorite Evil Warrior and he should be a swordsman, not a gunner. And yeah, the redesign is kind of weird.

I would accept Tri-Klops as some kind of laser/sniper guy if the intent is for this version of the mythos to also incorporate Blade and they're trying to keep the two characters distinct. But if all we're getting is Tri-Klops.... the dude was 'sword guy' for almost 40 years (basically, right up until the two Netflix cartoons).

I'm chalking it up to the god awful posing of the legs in the one photo. It also feels like there's drop down hips on it that were not pushed up a single time, there's a MASSIVE gap between the hip and thigh in some of the standing photos, especially when compared to promo shots.
