Marvel Cinematic Universe Figure Discussion

Just got a delay notification for Laura from Amazon. Wondering if it was sent because I'd already received a notification that she was supposed to arrive today. I'm not actually in a rush so I'm not stressed about it, just funny that she of all characters was the only one I got a delay on.

Brown suit Wolverine just arrived. Absolutely one of those UTTERLY pointless figures story-wise but because he is, in fact, really fucking cool, he's very much worth having. Although I'm baffled about not including an unmasked head to go with the neck and hood/cowl piece. Cheaping out, Hasbro....

I am really happy with my yellow suit Wolverine, but do look at the brown one on amazon now and then. I'm doing only one of everyone, and restricting myself to characters in the 80s Secret Wars, along with a few favorites I've snuck in like Ms Marvel and Yelena, so if I get him I would have to get rid of the yellow one. And the brown one WAS what he had in Secret Wars....

I firmly believe the brown costume figure is far superior to the previously released yellow costume, the sleeveless costume, the dad outfit, maybe even most of the releases from the old Fox movies. The brown is the best one thanks to the updated articulation in the torso and neck.

I can't remember who it was- Robo, maybe- but I was watching one review where they called out that same problem, but then solved it by popping on the unmasked head that the first yellow Wolvie came with. On one hand, the figure should definitely come with it, especially given how many unmasked Logan heads we've had at this point. On the other hand (and fully recognizing that this is a small bit of credit), I can appreciate that Hasbro gave the swappable neck peg so you can put one of the other Logan heads- probably the aforementioned one- on. It's nice that they're giving people the chance to be able to use previous accessories they otherwise wouldn't have, rather than just having them sit in a bag or something. Of course, if you don't have the previous figure or you used the unmasked head, then you have a problem, but still. It's totally cheap on Hasbro's part, but at least there's a small silver lining, depending on how you look at it.

Another thing I really like about the brown Wolvie is how the cowl wraps around the additional neck meant for the unmasked head. It fits the form perfectly, and is pretty secure, unlike other dropped cowls that have come with previous Wolverine figures, or any figure that comes with a dropped cowl.

Hasbro even mentioned on the fanfuck* when the wave was revealed that they skipped an unmasked head but were counting on collectors having at least one spare already to use.

*Hasbro Pulse fanstreaming event.
Riiiight. I think they did something similar for the Paradox head that Cassandra came with, suggesting the Matt Murdock body. On one hand- it's kinda nice that Hasbro has that communication with fans, suggesting certain things to elevate the display or make use of spare accessories. On the other hand, especially in the case of Paradox, it's undoubtedly at least a small attempt to move unsold product somehow.

I can't compare the Brown vs Wave 1 Wolverine as I didn't get mine in yet. But in regard to the yellow Wolverines, I only need the sleeved one. I don't really do battle damaged figures unless it's only way a character is offered

I want civilian Logan. So I have to buy a second civilian Wolverine in order to get an unmasked head for the brown suit Wolverine.

I also want an unmasked, sleeveless Wolverine. So I have to buy a second sleeveless Wolverine and a THIRD civilian Loga--and fuck you, Hasbro.

I received my Marvel Legends Deluxe Deadpool and Wolverine Deadpool figure from Amazon on Saturday.

I didn't know there was an Invisible Woman variant.

I contacted Amazon and after going round for round with their stupid AI chat bot (they kept asking if the item was damaged, or telling me to bring it to a UPS Store to return) I have a new one coming that should be here this week.

For those of you who were following along in the complaint thread. My wife sent me this when she got home just now.

Thankfully I don't have to go through an AI chat bot again.

Yeah, they can say, and they are not wrong, that we probably have a spare Logan head somewhere, but it's a bit of a fuck you because if you don't have that earlier Logan, you now have to go find one. Same thing with Paradox - sure, I might have a spare suit body - I mean I think I do, actually? But it IS a way to move some of those leftover Matty bodies from No Way Home or whomever. It's a business decision far more than a fan favor.

So... I like the range of the neck peg on brown Wolverine, but is it me or does his head sit so low on the neck that he's got no ability to look up? Like he can FULLY look down at his own balls, but if you put him into a crouch he can't look all the way up like you would if you wanted him crouched, clawed, and menacing someone. Wondering if the other heck has more ROM than the base one.

The head cheapness is annoying. I keep looking at that brown costumed Wolverine and think I might like it, but I want an unmasked head. I have the yellow suited one, but he looks dumb with the mask on so I don't want to display him with it. Do I just go out and buy a civilian Logan I don't actually want? How much does including the Jackman license impact their bottom line? It makes me wonder if their deal with him expired and they don't want to re-up or something. The end result is I'll probably sit this wave out.

Even though I don't want to spend 20 bucks on a head for a Marvel Legends, I did spend 20 bucks on these arms for the SHF Wolverine and I'm really happy with that decision. Helps that I got the figure on deep discount for 40 something bucks.

Those look great! By that same logic, it could be worth it to check eBay or Mercari for an extra head. I've picked up a few fodder pieces over the years- it's how I got Headpool without buying a Logan I wasn't interested in. Just a quick, cursory glance, and there's a couple Hughverine heads for around $10 or so- most are some of the older figs, but there's a few D&W in there.
