Marvel Cinematic Universe Figure Discussion

There is this account thats been posting AI photos of Legends from older Marvel movies and.... yeah yeah fuck AI whatever... I really want some revisited figures with modern delivery. Affleck Daredevil, Jane Punisher...

From the MCU I'd really just like a Falcon from the D+ show, a decent Endgame Cap (which we might end up getting for Doomsday) and a better IM2 War Machine.

I know the second half of the year will probably make up for the lack of product the first half, which is why I'm not getting too restless. I keep forgetting we have the D&W wave next month, and I'm sure it won't be too long after that until we find out more about wave 3. I mostly just want to know if, in addition to all the new stuff for BND and Doomsday if they're still planning on going back and filling any empty slots. I've heard all the rumors and everything, but since a lot of them seemingly haven't come to pass, there just doesn't seem to be a lot of eyes on the past. Some characters I've given up on ever hoping to get, but there's some- mostly some recent-ish villains, that I think could still be possible.

Hopefully trailers work to build interest.

I am down to three figures on my "appeared on screen but needs a figure" list, everything else is street level and mutsnt characters any more. And even that lost is maybe ten or so ...
Given what they're appearing to be going for with Doomsday, I don't think trailers will make me more interested. I just in general hate the direction they've gone with that project and winning me back is going to be hard to achieve

Yeah it is a shame - I also really lost my Marvel Legends mojo over the year. I wish they just kept us more interested with catch-up lines!

I ended up crossing over to other figure lines (SH Figuarts!) to feed my plastic crack habit but perhaps Doomsday can win me back over!

Releasing the Spider-Man trailer in 2 second snippets throughout the day has to be the dumbest marketing move yet.

Yeah, the forced hype is a bit much. It's like the cast announcement for Doomsday; you had people waiting hours for a video that panned 2 feet to show a chair. Or the horrendously pointless trailer for the trailer. I get that the hype and discussion is the point, but just give us the damn thing already. 😅

I didn't find the gradual chair reveal or the 4 Doomsday teasers to be this egregious. Dropping 2 second clips as a first impression on something everyone is dying to see and will get the next day in it's entirety is... a really bad way of leading into that. What's the point of pre-showing huge moments from the big first trailer in advance of the entire thing?

Maybe they're aware that there seems to be more hype for Dune part 3 than there is for Doomsday (arguably, but the MCU fatigue seems to be setting in again), and are trying to steal some of its thunder. But, as we can see, it seems to be backfiring.

Yeah - I wouldn't be surprised if that was their plan.

It was a dumb idea to release these things on the same day. Once one studio started teasing, the other should have immediately backed off and rescheduled.

It's like why is Ready or Not 2 coming out against Project Hail Mary? Both could be #1s. And why is the Zazie Beetz hotel version of Ready or Not coming out one week after the same movie? And why are Dune and Doomsday coming out on the same day?

These are million dollar bad decisions that make no sense for the *audience*. And yet - modern day Hollywood.
