To be fair, I think that's the way the hobby has gone too. More and more people are finding the interesting characters and coolest looking hero models and working backwards from there on what kind of army they want.Well sure. They're eye-catching. Get people talking and presumably buying. Honestly, I still have the gaming mentality for this property. Build & paint an army from the ground up. And eventually get to named characters. But that's not how people likely approach the Joytoy stuff. They're just going for cool looking pieces. Eventually they'll get an army going almost by happenstance. So yeah, the big shiny leader pieces attract them and then keep feeding that interest with other pieces to supplement the centerpiece.
Personally, the only stuff I really want from JoyToy are more Black Templars. I've decided to stay in that lane. Too much great looking stuff if I don't restrict myself. Ironically, I have not purchased a Rogal Dorn -- tempted to, though.
