Hulk Deluxe/Retro Wave

Yea I wouldn't call that Wolverine ML figure of the year. Especially with the fucked up height. Psylocke would like to have words.

The former... for sure the former.

Also are we serious about that Giant Wolverine being figure of the year? I hate that figure. And how did you collect data to establish a "majority of collectors"? If thats the directiion Marvel Legends is moving it seems they no longer want me as their customer. But with you being a big fan of the McFarlane DC line it tracks that you like that Wolverine since he fits better with those 7 inch figures.

I gathered that data about the Gamerverse Wolverine from the legion of action figure content I see across my socials as well as the sentiments in the comments. I have a lot of free time so between December 1st 2025 to January 2025 the algorithm on my phone was just lighting up like a switchboard when it came to people’s selection of the Gamerverse Wolverine as their pick for FOTY

And also to assuage any assumptions you might have that this is only popping up because of results I’ve searched for, I’d like to point out that the current favorite figure on everyone’s mind is the Mess Toys Superior Spider-Man and I do not own that figure, nor do I condone bootlegs so I’m not actively looking for it.

Also the reason I like the Gamerverse Wolverine is because I’ve always been a fan of that look for the last 30 years. The long extended mask fins and boot tips, the huge muscular build and the exaggerated claws are my favorite aesthetics when it comes to any Wolverine design. I also cut my teeth on the bone claw period of Wolverine in the comics in addition to the video game and television shows so Wolverine just looked like this when I first paid any attention to the X-Men and his solo issues.

Thats fair... having been on board with x-men earlier than that the John Byrne Wolverine is my template - Uncanny 133 left an impression on 7 year old me - at least for the blue and yellow. Paul Smith is my template for the brown and tan.

For me Wolverine is supposed to be 5 foot 3 canonically - and I know they drew him bigger in the bone claws era, but its not what he's supposed to be. Also I don't care at all to recreate video games in my display so that figure does absolutely nothing for me at all.

But clearly it appeals to those who don't value the same aesthetic I do.

The U-Foes didn't appear in Ultimate Destruction, they appeared in the 2008 video game based on the MCU movie with Edward Norton. The villains that did appear in Ultimate Destruction other than Abomination and General Ross are Mercy, and the Devil Hulk. I also want a Marvel Legends figure of Mercy as well, she too is on my personal Marvel Legends wish list.
Isn't Norton supposed to be the Hulk going forward for the MCU? I thought I'd heard that he was coming back for the next two movies (at least) and that Ruffalo was out? Personally I didn't dislike Ruffalo's Hulk, I just thought he didn't look anything like or act anything like Banner. Norton was able to embody that tormented loner/nerd a lot better I thought. Ultimately it doesn't take much to make a decent Hulk (the monster not the film series itself) from Norton's movie and beyond. I thought that Jennifer Connolly's Betty was decent though. And William Hurt's Gen. Ross was some of the better casting choices between the two earlier films.

As a standalone Wolverine to have on your desk it is a great figure for that purpose.

As a Wolverine in a Marvel Legends X-Men display it is out of scale I feel so not a great figure for that purpose.
