I broke it all down multiple pages ago, I don't wanna dig it up. Current retail is over-priced; but each piece does break down to current retail for niche collector prices here post-COVID.
Well, I don't need the fancy, schmancy base/ backdrop. I don't see that adding to the value all that much, so to me this whole thing is overpriced. I might have snagged these figures at retail, despite not collecting 3.75, but as it is it's a completely overpriced set that doesn't make me want to buy it. I think I'm hardly alone in that assessment, and I'm coming at that as someone who loves Tron.I broke it all down multiple pages ago, I don't wanna dig it up. I think the concept of Tron is very neat, and I think it has a cool place in the history of cinema. If this set were split up and I could just grab a single bike with rider to somehow attach driving up a wall behind a movie figures display - I would totally do that. But that's me willing to spend like 40-50 bucks, max. Those of you who do want this: some of you don't want all of it? Like, you only want one of the characters? Or just the bikes?
I'm such a "want every character represented" that that confuses me.
I'd probably buy the characters themselves...maybe on the bikes, but I wouldn't have to have them. I'd want them 1/12 though, as I don't collect 1/18. The characters are way more important to me than the sets or vehicles. The grid base/backdrop doesn't interest me at all. Those of you who do want this: some of you don't want all of it? Hell, from the above pic showing the figures *finally* looking like the movie characters the Grid might be the most vital piece of all.Well, I don't need the fancy, schmancy base/ backdrop. That's why. You don't know why we aren't digging this, so we are telling you. Very clearly not irrelevant. That really fucking does look cool as shit. I have no idea why none of y'all are diggin' this project. Christ, those under-glowed figures actually look like the painted B&W movie look when *no* other figure ever has.
I'm not sure how I feel about "despite the disagreement" as if MY breakdown of modern pricing is somehow just completely dismissable as irrelevant and untrue, but your assessment is absolute gospel. Why are -you- right with your numbers, and I'm wrong with my numbers? Asking genuinely. All I'm saying is, despite Damien's disagreement, this is exactly in line with what 2025 prices are for niche collector 18th-scale toys.
To you...not to me.Hell, from the above pic showing the figures *finally* looking like the movie characters the Grid might be the most vital piece of all.
Sorry, but I think Damien's assessment is far more accurate, and why this doesn't seem like a value to me at all.And not liking this or that piece isn't my point. All I'm saying is, despite Damien's disagreement, this is exactly in line with what 2025 prices are for niche collector 18th-scale toys. All the other stuff y'all are raising as issues are irrelevant to my point.
