General Marvel Legends

It's legitimately very funny that Target will do anything to restore the foot traffic it lost except to correct the thing that caused the foot traffic to disappear in the first place.

I was going to go on a long rant about how Twitter and an endless supply of sycophants poisoned our elites' brains, but ultimately it comes down to the fact that executives are very stupid.
Case in point: the McDonald's executive getting roasted for not even being able to fake enjoying one of his company's hamburgers. That whole thing kills me - it wasn't live. Nobody looked at it and said "this isn't good enough," before posting it? Our economy rewards the stupid and rich.

Maybe whoever in marketing cleared it either hates him or has a fetish for middle-aged white guys in quarter-zips eating burgers. If so, they got their money's worth on that decision.

(Incidentally, my favorite part of that video beyond even the Squidward-trying-his-first-Krabby-Patty bite is the fact that he called it a "delicious product," certainly a normal way we humans refer to our daily consumables.)

So I don't know if this is news to anyone but I personally didn't realize Magic has a full Marvel set out in June. (They just put out a Ninja Turtles set in the past week! Slow it down, card nerds.) So I would probably expect more MTG Marvel Legends.

They also did a reskin of one of my favorite black creatures with one of my favorite Marvel characters, so I'm hoping that this ends up one of them.

Oh yeah, they're non-stop with this. Their releases are basically brutalities at this point.

But the Marvel set is cool and they will probably get me the same way they got me for Final Fantasy. I held strong on the turtles.

Yeah, I did a Turtles sealed thing on Arena last week and did pretty well with a black/white Sneak based deck. At some point I want to build a Yuriko Commander deck and there's some solid support for ninjas in there, unsurprisingly. As a limited set, I think the artifacts theme is underpowered within the set and we're going to see sealed and drafting results reflect that pretty well. I don't know that there's a single new idea in the Turtles set, really. Sneak is fun but it's just non-busted Ninjutsu, very intentionally. The various pizzas would be cool in a Food-based Commander deck.

So, it's okay, even if a lot of non-major-character stuff is jank. Not as good as the ATLA one was (I love so many design elements of that set), which is also how I'm feeling about this new Marvel set based on the leaks so far. It's pure Commander bait, a lot of big, power-creeping stuff that all feels pretty much the same. I think maybe that Quicksilver has a potential tournament home in mono-red, but Prowess already has two compelling one-drops and I don't know if his (admittedly awesome) starts-in-play ability makes up for his early weakness on the field and his vulnerable stats. If Firebending ever becomes a meaningful Pioneer presence, I could see Quicksilver working well in that, but Prowess is like the most-played deck in the format and why would you choose something that operates even a little slower than that.

I'm hoping that Fantastic Four Commander deck with its emphasis on noncreature spells mattering will have some support for my Chun-Li deck, at least.

My Targets have very little as far as ML, GI Joe Classified or Mcfarlane figures. Over 3 weeks ago when I was looking for Mcfarlane Page Punchers Flashes and Jessica Cruz, a Target employee pulled a case from the back but it consisted of Cheetah, Advent and Superman. Even though their toy isle was Baron of product, that case stayed in the back til yesterday????. I find more stuff at Walmart these days.
