It's funny, that three pack was one of those weird ones where nobody felt like a waste - update of Phantomex, alt look for a very popular character on a buck that was pretty good for the time, and a villain we hadn't had before. I would've thought Nimrod is someone anyone who wanted already has and wouldn't need a rerelease. Maybe he's being featured heavily in the next season of X-Men 97 and they're expecting a boost in interest.

(I don't dislike the figure at all, but yeah, he's a lil clunky, but not a character I'm stressed out about not having a perfect version of.)

My strongest memory of Nimrod is in the cartoon, and I actually kind of hated him. I never liked the 'indestructible enemy' thing. I'll stick with regular Sentinels.

REALLY disappointed this ended up not being Bastion. Where is he, Hasbro?

He looks cool, but very unnecessary. Glad I can save money but also sad I don't want to add this to my collection. I'm guessing they wanted to amortize the mold cost and also thought because he's in the X97 main credits, it might give him a boost.

Just realized he's missing his pink wings.

A re-release of one of Hasbro's worst figures? Alright.

From the Danwhoo interview, Apocalypse is apparently one of Dwight's favorite characters (along with Stryfe) and he specifically called out his original X-Factor appearance as his favorite version and said he'd love to make it some day. He was suspiciously quiet on Timeshadow, though.

Sick. That's my favorite look for Apocalypse, too. I'd love the chance to replace my Marvel Select figure.

Hilariously, that boxed set was only 80 USD. "Only."

What do deluxe large-scale figures go for in USD nowadays? Strong Guy is what.. 40?

I like and hate Nimrod in the exact way I like and hate the Borg in Star Trek. The unstoppable robot enemy is amazing when you trot it out once or twice a decade and it's an apocalyptic threat everyone needs to get on board defeating *right now*. But the more you use it the more and more you diminish the importance of the enemy until it's no longer the Borg (complimentary) and becomes, well, the Borg (derogatory).

For my toy shelf it's all headcanon anyway, and for me Master Mold, Bastion, and Nimrod are like the unholy trinity of mass-murdering robots. Kind of literally now that I think about it. Very much father, son, unholy ghost.

Oh man, now I'm thinking of doing a Pietà with Karima Omega Sentinel as Virgin Mary and Bation in the Jesus pose...

With today's Marvel Sorcerer Supreme news, got me thinking it's time for a Magic wave! Right? Especially if it syncs up with Mephisto's release.

Robbie Reyes could fit in here, maybe America Chavez with her MCU connection. I'm avoiding spoilers but the new Sorcerer Supreme would make a dynamite figure - maybe a deluxe, separate version, with a lot of effects and a base and all the paint needed? Like the Phoenix set.

I'm realizing I am very much not in touch with the 616 magic alley. I don't want another Nico, especially if we're never getting more Runaways. But I want all of these characters! My kitbash Wiccan works - but come on!

Yes, Comic Mordo is long overdue, as is Nightmare. Two of Dr. Strange's biggest villains still haven't been made!

I thought so. Comic Mordo really does feel like an oversight at this point. He's even gotten an MCU figure.

Rach arrived today, been messing around with her all afternoon. It's funny as I was never really her biggest fan back in the day and it feels like they've rarely done anything interesting with her in the modern era but she does have a certain something, I'll give her that. Kinda wish I had a Kitty and Brian to go with her but eh, no rush.
