G.I. Joe Classified Series

I have no problem and even encourage them to INCLUDE expressive faces, but goddamn, don't make it frozen in time with only one option. Or if you do don't do it on a character we'll likely only get once. Todd does screaming Batman all the time, but if you don't like it, buy one of the other 87 Batman figures he made this year. If we're lucky we'll get another Crazylegs in a few years in a repaint. This is Marvel Legends Thunderstrike annoying to me. So annoying.

While I generally agree with this, I do have an alternate or maybe parallel opinion on this; I fucking hate characters that look bored or like mannequins. What I'll say about overly expressive faces is that at least they're 'doing something' on the shelf. I'm in favor of neutral expressions, but some sculptors/designers really need to work on how they accomplish that.

I'm a v2 Eel guy. That crazy yellow and blue and weird outfit. I'm all about it. But I used Hydro-Viper as more of a monster than a specialist. He was just perfectly creepy.
And I get why, but it's the shark that would get me there. I won't be able to resist that at all. He came with a shark right?
I'm not convinced. There's only so many retro card releases per year. Are they really gonna use up a slot on a tertiary Ninja Force bad guy (who most people associated with the other bad guy, which is why they're a two-pack in the first place)? If someone said an apology-Storm Shadow figure will be retro carded? I could totally see that. Slice? Definitely would surprise me.
It seems like they're rethinking how retro works now but you of course could be right. But watch them do the orange version instead.
And even if that is the plan - how many years away is that with the current release pattern?
I dunno... At least two?

Exactly! That was my immediate issue with some of the Eternals figures. Both? Perfect.

Right. Hey, don't like the screaming head? Should've bought a Dragonfly.
I'm loathe to pop the head off a nearly irreplaceable (at reasonable cost) figure, but that does enable me to see what fits on that body. I have no problem slapping a generic soldier head or Grunt's alt head on him since Crazylegs didn't have a particularly distinct face.
And he was an entirely new figure with no reused parts, but I'll look in a bit to see if anyone else used his neck. But, shit, actually if he has a new head on the retro figure, may be a different neck too! Maybe wait for reviews, or get a head you like with its neck as well.
We'll start bullying you to buy him immediately.
Pricks.

I can agree with that. Totally static is something i am just used to heh, but screaming or deep smirking or what have you, waaaaay too far the other way.

I'm in for all of these. Don't love the screaming head, but I'll survive.

You know, I loved the package art on the original line. I didn't understand how good we had it until later lines got all shitty. So I was pumped for the retro cards, but good god these are awful. Just use the original art.

At least we're getting alternate heads and necks with the police officer and greenshirt. Hopefully Crazylegs helmet fits securely on one of those heads for an easy swap. Come to think of it, I didn't preorder the Joe greeshirt. I don't really need greenshirts. I have a few of the Legacy line soldiers to be generics. But I may eventually get a greenshirt just for the heads and guns. I have a few of the police offer and put one of the heads onto the Steel Brigade which came with the Joe perimeter set. Liking them packing in alternate heads. Make troop building and customizing new characters more feasible and interesting.

The first version of yellow/blue did. V2 and V3 were basically the same figure but v3 didn't have the shark. So Classified could go either way. I still think there's a good chance the harness we saw is for a shark, but who knows.

But watch them do the orange version instead.
I might get violent.

I think I'm going to need 2 of the female CGs to go with the twins, my 2 CGs, Crimson Bats and Crimson Vipers.

Don't know how much of the others I'm going to need.

Pixel Dan is going to LOVE Ninja Force Zartan, that much is certain.

@docsilence

His neck may have been used recently, but I don't have a lot of data on the last year or so's worth of figures. But again, new head could mean a neck that wasn't used for the damned NF figure anyway.

Re: Crazylegs - if the heads are compatible, perhaps you could swap it with Retro Flint's? I feel like that kind of expression could actually work for Flint if you pose him with his fist up in the classic fashion.

I've never had a Grand Slam, what was his deal anyway? Like, Flash is the laser dude, Grand Slam is what, a rocket dude? A jetpack dude?

You know what: Addendum. I'm gonna advocate for for the Plain Jane (Joe?) O13 green guys. I think there something to these simple uniform dudes that make the more vibrant characters stand out that much more in a good way. I wasn't gonna get many of the Team Green, but F' it, i think I'm gonna get Zap, Steeler and Short-Fuze and one more Green Shirt.
I was 8 when the 82 line started and was the perfect age for Hasbro to hit up with the ARAH line. So while the cartoon was my first love, I also read the comic and the 82 figures still hold a special place for me. As such I am all about getting all the OG13 figures in all their boring drab olive green glory!!!

Original Grand Slam came with the HAL (heavy artillery laser) so he was laserish. He was recolored in silver and released with the jump pack station which came with a gun that hosed to the jump pack so was maybe a laser?

Second Grand Slam:

If they did him basically like Budo, they could do one deluxe for the two guys.

I gotta believe they'll release Grand Slam in silver initially, hopefully with some kind of JUMP launch set. Version 1 and Flash were nearly identical and it wouldn't make much sense to release them close to each other. Maybe they'll release a red pad version Grand Slam in retro (although I'm not sure the demand would be there.)

Maybe we'll get a HAL set!
