G.I. Joe Classified Series: The Chatty Pointless Thread & Performance Art

Random Joes lore question - am I losing my mind or was there a type of Viper (Frag Viper maybe?) that under Classified was canonically a cyborg with the idea that Cobra could use the bodies of soldiers even after they were dead? I could've sworn that was something I saw somewhere but I can't find the info anywhere tonight.

Yup!
Frag-Vipers are evidently cyborgs in Classified, and they have super-creepy android/zombie faces under their helmets.

Once we get a figure of Scarface, I will move on to obsessing about Tony Lander, the mad Cobra Agent. He is simply mad!

My job regularly has me driving all over the city for meetings and site visits, so I basically can stop into every Walmart in the city at least once a week or two, if I'm so inclined. I can't even tell you the last time I saw a G.I. Joe figure hanging on the pegs. And in the last month or two I don't think I've seen a single Star Wars Black Series figure or Marvel Legends figure either. It seems Walmarts either in Alberta, or just in the city here, have completely abandoned all 'collector' lines besides WWE. And even that selection is very sparse and probably pretty old at this point since it's been the same figures on the pegs for months.

I don't even know if Walmart carries those lines anymore. I haven't seen them in over a year if not more. Feel like they conceded that territory to carry the cheaper kids stuff that EB doesn't.

That was my thinking. If you had an Edge card, every collector line was cheaper at EB than it was at Walmart. Their selection was always fuck-ass-terrible even when they actually carried the figures regularly. Seems like they gave up.

I think the last Joe product I saw was retro Scarlett.

And the last Legends was the wave with the astonishing Emma Frost and M, which they were surprisingly first to market for by a few weeks. But that was it.

So I like Airtight, though I wish he had the hood covering for the head like the 30th anniversary 3 3/4 did. But thats a niggle.
Taurus and Red Dog I'm indifferent too, but I'll grab them because at this point I think I'm just getting one of every Joe character.

The rest dont do anything else for me. I think Im pretty much done with Cobra. I have more than enough to make my army, I have some decent vehicles. Im good i think. I wouldn't say no to some more Iron Grenadiers, because I only managed to get 4, but otherwise Im ok with villains.

In other news I have Lifeline, my second H&R and Big Lob on the way. I'll need a few H&R's to strip for gear, so a few will be coming.

Hit and Run just got bumped to Weds for me. If I get a Joe every other day for the next week I'm going to feel silly with all the single packages but that's like, the twelve days of Christmas but only for me.

Something I thought was fun (for me, not necessarily for anyone else); is looking just at current render reveals; if you had asked me, which you did not, to make a top 20 list of figures I want from this line as of whatever the latest current wave, it would have included 4 of the figures we have reveals for: Zartan, Hydro Viper, Night Viper, and Overkill.
4 out of 20 is a damn fine ratio considering the breadth that this line can cover.

I was supposed to get Lifeline today but got hit with a "supply chain issue" delay from Amazon. I'd feel better about a supply chain issue if it wasn't supposed to ship today because this makes me think their shipment of Lifelines got flash-frozen in the horrible weather this weekend. Currently out of stock on Amazon. Wondering if it's time to just grab a preorder on Pulse but last time I did that I ended up with a duplicate figure by accident.

This isn't at all the right thread for this, but Super 7 may do Visionaries figures and I was telling @DarthDre758 I hope Hasbro doesn't because I will be so tempted by that. Loved the original line. I didn't care about the holograms so much but knights and magic and vehicles and animals.... And that made me think to post here with all the animal companion love: what if they did Visionaries figures paired with their animal counterpart? Leoric with a lion, Witterquick and the cheetah, Darkstorm and the ...big nasty thing he turned into, and so on.

My biggest disappointment in the old Visionaries line was their NOT coming with those animals. A good line of Visionaries would get me to spend too much money.
