G.I. Joe Classified Series: The Chatty Pointless Thread & Performance Art

I don't have a "core team" for Joes but some smaller squads. Here's a couple:

Hell yeah. That looks great, Vic.

I don't have mine set up quite that cool yet, but I have started really focusing on arranging the shelf to have 'like' characters together (i.e. the desert guys, the jungle guys, the urban guys, and so on) into little teams. Eventually, I'll figure out how I want that to look more permanently. But I can just never decide. I also have Breaker and Low-Light together, though! Twinsies.

Breaker-

In all seriousness, I highly recommend Dimension 20's "A Crown of Candy." It sounds so stupid - Candyland mashed up with Game of Thrones - but it does this bizarre thing where it takes itself completely seriously so suddenly you're deeply invested heirs to the throne who are un-ironically played as sentient licorice whips.
Also has probably the best chain lightning in the history of chain lightning.

I, uh, just wanted to make it clear that I’m not a *fan* of Operation: Desert Storm, AT ALL, dessert storm sounds way way better to me.

But it was cool to have a Duke that was in a more-or-less current Army uniform.

As for Duke’s rank and head-canon: I just can’t square the circle when it comes to promoting him. I have zero problems with file-card/comic Duke specifically, he’s just not my *favorite* Joe, and one thing I respect a lot about him is his consistent refusal to take an officer’s commission. In my head canon he is still Top Kick and used in situations where diplomacy and face-man skills are needed, while Stalker leads the field missions mor directly involving “wet work”. Ironically, Scarlett and Duke work closely in my head-canon, but are just respected colleagues and not particularly close at all. Scarlett and Snake-Eyes are usually separated for mission work, and Snake-Eyes definitely does “wet work”. They are all still non-commissioned.

I get your point... I guess I just really want Duke out of the field heh. Oh, and you will love that I got the idea of promoting him to Major from the movie where he was played by Channing Tatum!

But you know, Dutch was also a Major in Predator and certainly a wet work type...

While we're establishing head cannons, I have a particular Snake Eyes who I often kitbash/customize and in my mind he's kind of an overpowered jackass who talks to himself and sounds like a surfer bro. Right now he's doing a method grab on a Cobra snowboard while shooting an SMG. Snake Eyes stabbed the Snow Serpent from behind but didn't do a thoughtful job, causing Snow Serpent to bleed out slowly. But before he eventually passed, he had to listen to Snake Eyes go,

"Ah sick is that a fucking snowboard? Hell yeah dude."

I think the old cards make such a big deal out of Duke refusing advancement that I think he retires a sergeant in my head canon. Stalker will ABSOLUTELY take that promotion though cos he's sick of being second fiddle to the blond guy when he was there during the whole Snake Eyes fiasco.

Stalker would absolutely take the rank, and then go home to Detroit and show the local kids how far you can go when you get off the streets. In my head-canon, Stalker is a major role model and active in his community when not on mission.

THIS. It bugged me that they made the black guy a former gang warlord in the original file card but thinking along the lines of: nobody does that unless they have to, and look what he did with those life experiences...
