Also has probably the best chain lightning in the history of chain lightning. In all seriousness, I highly recommend Dimension 20's "A Crown of Candy." It sounds so stupid - Candyland mashed up with Game of Thrones - but it does this bizarre thing where it takes itself completely seriously so suddenly you're deeply invested heirs to the throne who are un-ironically played as sentient licorice whips.
Right? A lot of building for 13 people. My takeaway? Holy hell HQ goes on forever.
I betcha 80% of it is just cheap aluminum siding dressed up to look like a massive armored fort.Right? A lot of building for 13 people.
They have a support staff and all the green shirt fodder.Right? A lot of building for 13 people.
“Major Conrad ‘Duke’ Hauser” on all the damn marketing of that time.Oh, and you will love that I got the idea of promoting him to Major from the movie where he was played by Channing Tatum!
I think the old cards make such a big deal out of Duke refusing advancement that I think he retires a sergeant in my head canon. Stalker will ABSOLUTELY take that promotion though cos he's sick of being second fiddle to the blond guy when he was there during the whole Snake Eyes fiasco. As for Duke’s rank and head-canon: I just can’t square the circle when it comes to promoting him. I have zero problems with file-card/comic Duke specifically, he’s just not my *favorite* Joe, and one thing I respect a lot about him is his consistent refusal to take an officer’s commission. In my head canon he is still Top Kick and used in situations where diplomacy and face-man skills are needed, while Stalker leads the field missions mor directly involving “wet work”. Ironically, Scarlett and Duke work closely in my head-canon, but are just respected colleagues and not particularly close at all. Scarlett and Snake-Eyes are usually separated for mission work, and Snake-Eyes definitely does “wet work”. They are all still non-commissioned.
THIS. It bugged me that they made the black guy a former gang warlord in the original file card but thinking along the lines of: nobody does that unless they have to, and look what he did with those life experiences...Stalker would absolutely take the rank, and then go home to Detroit and show the local kids how far you can go when you get off the streets. In my head-canon, Stalker is a major role model and active in his community when not on mission.
