G.I. Joe Classified Series: The Chatty Pointless Thread & Performance Art

Not to get off Combat Jack (boy, that sounded worse than I meant it too), but today I broke my "only get figures from the 82-94 A Real American Hero Toyline" rule. I bought Big Lob. I just remember him too well from the animated movie to pass him up. I didn't order him with the rest of the wave, but when I saw him in person today at Wal-Mart, I had to get him.

Now, resume Combat Jacking

Night Viper really is sleek. Past '86, I've vowed to keep to ONE Cobra troop builder, considering them each as individual specialists. But that Night Viper came out so well, I bought two. I'm sure I can find ways to give them difference appearances. But they really are nice.

Just opened the other two Royal Guards, Nemesis Enforcer, Pythona. Man, these guys are scary. I think I’m totally breaking my “no troop building” rule for these RGs. I want a swarm of these guys. I want a hive. I find it interesting that Cobra-La designs have more in common with mollusks, crustaceans, insects, and arachnids than they do any snakes. My one overall wish is that these guys all came with alternate clawing hands. I feel like that’s the gesture they should all be making if they’re not holding weapons or creatures. And if they weren’t permanently attached, I’d remove the RG holsters from their hips as well. And I’m gonna need Golobulus IMMEDIATELY.

. . . I’ve got five Royal Guards here already (woof, what a haul in one day, I even left two behind), so a swarm is developing. So many options for configuration! Right now I’m digging the scarred unmasked head with asymmetrical armor (heavy on the left), like he’s a Knight of the Guard.

Is it weird that I want them to repaint the grinning head in white with red eyes? He’s basically Nosferatu, easy-peasy vampire right there with the right parts.

This shot looks amazing, Norm! Love it! The 3-pack set of Royal Guard, Nemesis Enforcer, and Golobulus was one of my absolute favorites when I was a kid. Got it for a birthday. Envious of the Royal Guards. They aren’t available for pickup in my area at the moment. I need to wait for my GameStop preorder.

Regarding Night-Viper and Hit & Run, I got them recently. They both came out fantastic! I agree that Night-Viper is worthy of army building.
