G.I. Joe Classified - News & Updates

I knew those same people were a lost cause when Punisher called out this behaviour in the comics and nothing changed. These people don't even read the comics. They're not 'one of us.' They're scumbags with no morals and no pop culture literacy.
"You guys need a role model? His name is Captain America and he'd be happy to have you." One of my favorite Frank one-liners.

I still remember that time Cap was beating the shit out Frank and Frank wouldn't fight back saying "Not against you."

It was a great visual of two different Americas (and of course the whole superhero civil war at the time).

(Tangent)

I always thought one of the early ideas around Ultimate Cap (aside from most of the terrible about him) that kind of stuck with me that I thought might be worth exploring more with 616 Cap is the idea that he was in war and would have had to kill. I don't like the take with Ultimate Cap where he started out as a dick, but then got much worse, because of the time he grew up in and the war. However I think exploring the idea that Cap killed in the war and how it directs him today should be more prevalent.

I know it has been somewhat explored from time to time over the years, but I can't be certain of how recently since I don't read books anymore.

Regarding Punisher's logo - I have a tee with it and I still wear it. Why? Because fuck those pussies who co-opted it for their own use and are too stupid to know what Frank truly stands for. They just think it looks "cool".

And the thing of it is - those Magats would probably think I'm one of them based on looks alone - bald (I wish I had a lush head of hair, but genetics fucked me there. Thanks Dad.), bearded, tatted up. It hasn't happened, but if some dipshit did say something because of the shirt I'm going to have the look on his face seared into my memory when I tell him to fuck off.

The crazy thing is Born Again literally head on confronts the way the worst people have coopted the Punisher symbol, has the guy the symbol is dedicated to say you're an asshole and I hate you to the people doing it... and people in the real world keep doing it. I mean the Boys have been on a trajectory of being more blatant each season of saying "these are bad people" and people still think Homelander is Superman so... we're not dealing with the best and brightest with this stuff.
Media literacy at an all time low.

My running joke is that I"m a pair of jorts and some yellow work boots away from being able to go undercover at a MAGA event. Bald, tattooed, resting dickhead face.

One of my brother's childhood best friends got the Punisher skull tattooed on HIS ENTIRE BACK. He's a preacher now in a very cult-ish denomination.

I can confirm that, with some heat, the head/neck of the Special Forces guy swaps direct with the cop. Looks awesome, and significantly less sinister that way.

Update:
Oooh yeah, get the cop heads/necks on the special forces body, pop off the flip-phone and use the scarf instead, then use the berets, and you’ve got a way more “timeless”-feeling Legacy Joe that feels very updated-original-1960s and also gives strong “good guy” vibes as opposed to the terror-trooper vibe of the camo heads with the modern helmet and tech.

I was in no hurry to buy this figure due to those green make up heads. But with generic war paint-free head, I’m looking for the place that’ll get one to me the fastest.

I find the price on this Special Forces figure particularly egregious. It has like one extra head, two extra guns and one extra accessory beyond a regular figure for an additional $15. I just can't fathom paying $42 for him. Like most of these'deluxe' generics, if it goes on significant sale I'll pick it up, and if not I just won't have it.

It is very satisfying when people come up with the concept of you based on your look or how you carry yourself, and then feel comfortable exposing their ass like you're going to high-five them over their idiotic takes.

In fact, sometimes that's the best way to hold them accountable and give them a teaching experience. Sincerely, not talking violence. Sometimes these guys, especially the younger ones, just never had a better role models to open their minds and challenge things.

There's a kid in my program who really looks up to me and always wants to follow me and hang around. He had some some shitty takes about women and women's rights (his culture and religion didn't help) and I just told them to his face he should correct himself when he was trying to dap me up with it. I think he thought it was a bonding tool. He has improved and even called other people out since. It's really all you can do, a slow disarmament.
