Diamond Select Lord of the Rings

The films are in my top ten of all time, but I do appreciate other interpretations of it.

Frazetta Icons works with Bakshi. Maybe it's possible for that.

Who was the company in the early 2000s that was making book figures for Lord of the Rings? I had a cool Ringwraith. Packaging was like yellow and green? I think the eyes also pipelighted red.

With Rings of Power still going on, and a bunch of people seemingly having seen LOTR on the big screen for the first time during this recent re-release, I'd say there'd still be plenty of interest in a line
I am surprised Amazon hasn't tried to do Rings of Power figures, I really thought they would.

Toy Vault I believe. I had a few of them way back in the day. I was so shocked to see LOTR figures so I had to get them. I was a huge fan starting at the age of 5 long before the movies came out. I remember showing up to school in 1st grade dressed as a hobbit and no other kid or even a teacher knew what the heck I was trying to be.

With how complicated the rights are I wonder if they even have the rights to make figures. They may just have the rights to mark the show. I don’t think I have seen much on Rings of Power other than the sound track being sold.

Yeah that whole contract Amazon has is so wonky and specific, no wonder the show is so wobbly. I wouldn't mind a figure of the Puerto Rican elf, I can't remember his name, but he was the only part of season 1 I remember.

No jest, I think it's the best way to do it. That Two Towers Blue...
I think I remember hearing that Two Towers was supposed to be blue and ROTK was red, but that it got switched (maybe accidentally?) and they just went with it. Regardless, seeing anything other than green for FOTR, red for TTT, and blue for ROTK feels wrong to me now. 😅 I saw it somewhere recently- maybe one of the vinyl releases? And I felt like I'd crossed into an alternate universe for a second.

I think I got my colors swapped due to the PS2 games cases.
Game changers, those two (no pun intended). Amazing games, especially for the typical early 00's licensed fare, but hot damn was ROTK unforgiving, especially for a kid like me who was mostly just used to button mashing and 3D platformers like Crash and Spyro.

Very ahead of their time as far as combat and brawlers went.

And for a while, the DVD qiality cut scenes as part of the game were the only way to rewatch Helm's Deep before he actual DVD release.

Yeah I loved the RotK game as a teen. So hard but I did manage to finish it. It also had a ton of interviews with the cast, it was awesome! And I loved the transitions from movie to in-game models in cutscenes, so fun.

To anyone who's into gaming, I strongly recommend the Shadow of Mordor/War games, they're incredible. The combat is probably the best sword combat I've experienced in a videogame, and the nemesis system keeps the fun going for many hours, even if the story is done. You truly feel like a one-man army, you can literally take upon hundreds of orcs and win.

The Nemesis system being locked behind whatever stupid legal barrier and unable for use for like 20 years truly is one of the stupidest decisions in gaming. If they had been able to use it for Batman like they wanted, hoooo baby, I'd be one happy camper. I can't say that it would've brought world peace, but I suppose we'll never be able to prove it couldn't have.

I thought the colors where to be representative of the passing seasons and the passing of the elves: Green Spring/Summer, Red Fall, Blue Winter. So the ble winter represented that the time of growth and flourishing was done, just as how Aragorn becoming king of a unified Gondor represented the ending of the Elves influence and the Third Age and the beginning of the time of Man. Or maybe I just thought too deep into it.

I dreamed up a 3rd game "Shadow of Rhun" set in the mysterious east where you play as one blue wizard taking on the other. Sucked to come back to reality that day haha
