anyway, I hope ScarJo is just like, Vicki Vale.

I don't have high hopes for a Matt Reeves version of the Phantasm considering how badly he fucked up the Riddler (and Joker in that deleted scene)

That's a hot take.

You know, I have my own hot takes on what I would like to see in the DCU but I don't think I should share them.

If I did, I would be ostracized and then excommunicated. I would then have to spend eternity in the fire pits of Apokolips next to @Ru1977's pantsless Dad.

So I'll keep my hot takes to myself, thank you very much.

Okay, so in the James Gunn DCU, the Multiverse is a thing, right? We saw Earth X in Peacemaker Season 2.

I would like to see the Crime Syndicate of Earth 3. I think that would be very cool. My dream cast would be Henry Cavill as Ultraman, Ben Affleck as Owlman, Gal Gadot as Superwoman, Jason Momoa as Sea King, Grant Gustin as Johnny Quick, Ryan Reynolds as Power Ring, Melissa Benoist as Ultragirl and Stephen Amell as Deadeye. Oh, and Jesse Eisenberg as Alexander Luthor.

Also.

The Justice Society of America of Earth 2. Henry Cavill as the Golden Age Superman, Ben Affleck as the Golden Age Batman, Gal Gadot as the Golden Age Wonder Woman, Ryan Reynolds as Alan Scott Green Lantern, Grant Gustin as Jay Garrick Flash, Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman and Brec Bassinger as Stargirl.

I'd love that. But if you hate that idea (Hi, haters. You fucking know who you are) don't worry your precious little heads. It's not going to happen. So don't lose any sleep.

Verrryr Interesting, I'd make some changes though:

JSA I'd swap Henry for Brandon Routh, Ben for Jon Hamm, Gal for a good actor (the dream would have been Lynda Carter, but I think she's maybe a bit too old for it now), Ryan for Matt Boomer, Grant for John Wesley Shipp; but also I'd bring in Alainna Huffman as Dinah Drake

CSA swaps I'd make: Gal for a good actor, and bring in Katie Cassidy as Black Siren. I might also swap Ryan Power Ring for David Ramsey as Power Ring

oh wait, I'd make Superwoman bitsie tulloch
 
but otherwise you know I want the JSA and the CSA!

I don't think they'd make JSA of Earth-2 though, since they've already got the JSA in the Hall of Justice mural

Lori Laughlin woulda been my first pick for Dinah Drake, but you know...she did all them crimes.

I'm a DC girl at heart, and OMG IM SO DUMB I need to get Gerard Christopher and Stacy Haiduk in there somewhere!

Well, i can't speak for others, but I have several thoughts on this.

1. Anytime A show or movie references a thing I love that is good, they ar emaking the mistake of comparing themselves to that. And if they aren't as good as that other thing, I'm gonna be thinking "Damn, I should just watch that instead"

2. The last time someone revisited Andrea was Tom King's terrible Batman/Catwoman miniseries, and that was....real bad.

3. Making her Andrea, a costumed criminal that is a love interest that also wants to kill mobsters is....the same exact plot of Catwoman's from the first movie.

Or, and hear me out, MCU Secret Wars has an appearance by the Squadron Supreme starring that exact same cast.

I was wondering if the Phantasm's story still holds up after you know who's really under the hood, but it's been a while since I've seen it, though, and couldn't really articulate it.

oh i thin there's plenty in the audience that would be unaware, so that's a moot point for the makers of the film.

but i mean, the film holds up on rewatch.
