DC Studios Movies and Streaming Series Discussion

Word on the street is the full trailer will be released on Thursday. There may be a poster later today or tomorrow.

If you've never read Tom King's brilliant "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" graphic novel, I highly recommend it.

James Gunn is right. DC Comics is knocking it out of the park right now.

It's not gonna happen anytime soon, but wouldn't a World's Finest movie be cool?

Well ... it's nice to have a dream.

But I think some of these folks need to take a train trip to a little place I like to call realityville.
Despite the missteps (and there were some big ones), I appreciated Snyder's vision overall.

That said, it's over now, time to move on. Restore the snyderverse has just gotten sad and pathetic. It's all hate mongering internet bots at this point.

Same, same, same.

I’ve got great affection for much of the Snyderverse. Some really great stuff in there.

And it is OVER.

And that is just fine.

(Also holy shit the snyderbros scare the living piss out of me)

I loved the Snyderverse, too. I thought Man of Steel, Batman v Superman and Zack Snyder's Justice League were very well done. They had a grand, epic, sweeping scope to them that suited the DC Universe characters. It was difficult to see it end that way, with the boom tube giving us a glimpse of Apokolips, Darkseid, Granny Goodness and DeSaad. And then there was the two end credits scene with the Joker and Martian Manhunter.

C'mon, man. You gotta finish it.

While I'm fully aware that more live action movies are out of the question (The cast has all moved on and they're starting to get a little long in the tooth anyway) I would still very much like to see this story finished. If Zack and the original screenwriters would like to do it as a graphic novel or animated movies, I'd very much be down with that. I'm hoping that's what happens.

I am ever the eternal optimist.

I'll tell ya, for the tone he was shooting for, I think his casting of the trinity was pretty on-point. I think his version of Justice League was my favorite of the three. What is it, 3 or 4 hours? Just plan some intermission or break it into two nights and you'll be fine. I wouldn't watch Josstice League again. I don't know if studio meddling was ever more palpable in a. superhero film than in that version.

Great post and very well said. 👏

Everything has its fans, I suppose, but I am firmly on the side of Snyderverse = Yuck. I generally did not like what they thought Superman, Batman and Flash should be. Or Captain Marvel. Or Joker. Just across the board their character interpretations weren't characters I wanted to see.

Which is a shame, because I think Henry Cavill is a great Superman, just not in the movies. He himself had all the charm and compassion I expect from Superman, but when he gets in front of the camera, the director's all "yeah, don't do any of that."

I did actually really like Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, though. I may be the only one, but I thought she was well cast and it was a smart decision to put her debut in WWI.

And Margot Robbie was a great Harley, but I wouldn't realize that until James Gunn's Suicide Squad, so it may not count.
