Boss Fight Studios 1/12 and EPIC HACKS

I don't love the price on that Frankenstein figure, and I don't really like it as Frank monster personally... but it does give me a Simon Garth sort of vibe. If it were about $15 cheaper I think I'd buy it to stamd in for Garth in my collection.

But thats a whole other company. FMF (Fresh Monkey Fiction) makes the Crimson Moon fifures. This is the Boss Fight Studios thead...

Unless you were comparing the FMF choice to BFS choices and I missed it.
 
Well, I got wave 2 and 3 of Popeye. Since there are only 7 figures that I wanted I had to add a 1st appearance Popeye which I didn't really want to get the 50% off. Ended up being cheaper for 8 figs than 7. I was hoping there was a deal for the Garfield line--maybe next year.
 
Anyone heard updates on more Popeye? Alice seems so easy with the basic Goon already made, and Geezil seems like the last major character - sure they could find another Popeye and Bluto variant and call it a wave.

The only information I've seen is that Popeye figures will be shown 'later'. That was the response BFS sent me when I asked about Popeye reveals showing up during their advent reveals. I hope we see them at some point in Q1 2026. My guess for the wave is pretty much the same as you. Alice and Geezil seem like clear choices for the reasons you say. Popeye and a big bad (maybe Oxbow Oxheart) in boxing attire are my guess for the other two figures. I would be happy with that wave. I'd be happy with just Alice and Geezil.

That would make sense given they made them in the Mezco 5 pts line as well. I'd probably get them if they made them.

After that, I think they could close out the line and it would feel complete to me.

Thanks for the name correction. I'm not sure why Oxblood is often selected from the many big guys Popeye boxed, but it seems like he's usually the pick for merch. Personally, I think Kid Mustard is a more interesting character because of the whole spinach eating thing.

I agree the line will feel complete after this next wave. Although, there are several characters I'd still like to add that I'm planning to customize, like Nana and Cole Oyl, King Blozo, Oscar, and Sweet Pea's biological mother. I don't think any of those characters will or should get actual figures.

Quick Popeye diversion!

I did a quick search on King Blozo as I couldn't place him but recognized the name, and this popped up: https://www.hmdb.org/m.asp?m=161725

Which led me to this: https://www.baskervilleproductions.com/popeye-trail - apparently this is found in Segar's home town of Chester, Illinois, which is about an hour south of St Louis along the Mississippi.

From wikipedia (but apparently no longer a thing) - Popeye's Picnic is an event held in Chester the Friday, Saturday and Sunday following Labor Day in the month of September. Popeye's Picnic consists of rides, food stands, music, and fireworks. The Popeye Parade is held on a Saturday morning

He's very tempting for me as well, but then I think about those goblins Boss Fight just released and I need to wait and see.

Has there been any news on the wave with Roxy the space woman and the Amazon warrior? I'm real curious to see what the actual product looks like.

That space girl and warrior feel like they’re taking extra long, with zero updates.

Their latest update email says Q2 for Epic HACKS wave 1 as well as Hellboy wave 1, which is weird considering how far apart the pre-orders for those were. I expect the HACKS will come out within the next 4 months but Hellboy might be pushed back. The last thing they showed of the 6" wave 1 were unpainted test shots in June last year.

With the greedy dickhead in charge of Boss Fight I think it's always a good idea to wait to see the final product before ordering as you never know when he'll attempt a rug-pull, but with that said I think the degradation of quality with the 3 3/4" figures is because he has no interest in that line and is just slowly killing it off while milking whatever he can out of it. I'm expecting the 6" figures to continue to be the quality of Red Sonja, for the near future anyway.
