Skurge the Executioner BAF Wave

Is the Phantom Rider that was made inaccurate? I thought the classic version was more superhero spandex than actual clothes.

Grabbed Enchantress from GameStop today for $15.

I knew I had my monthly $5 coupon, but was surprised to get to the register and see I also had a $10 "settlement credit" from when GameStop leaked my information to the dark web. What a great trade off!

Only a head, an axe, a left arm, and two legs to go for Executioner!

In some pics he does have the spurs.

Yeah, he could look a little more cowboy, but overall I'm satisfied with him.

The rest of this wave came in today! Skurge is finally complete. His right arm is no longer just sitting there.

This assortment is really outstanding (Except for the one ... uh, issue that I'm not going to talk about). Phantom Rider is a classic western hero that gives me hope for more cowboys and western themed characters. Spider-Man gets us closer to completing the Dark Avengers. Enchantress and Executioner are two members of Zemo's original Masters of Evil. Maybe the Melter and the Black Knight (Dane's evil Uncle) won't be far behind? Hopefully Werewolf By Night is just the start of more Bronze Age Marvel monsters. Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, Living Mummy ... I want them all! WW II Logan is so cool and so much fun. Dwight said at SDCC that if he sells well that may open the door to more Golden Age characters. You can't imagine how happy that possibility makes me. And this is a cool Iron Man armor.

So this wave fills me with hope. A great way to end the year! Thank you, Hasbro!

You forgot one. What did you think of Warbow? Top 15 of the year at least, right?

Keep preachin’!!

Also: Werewolf by Night’s legs/pants are new . . . with those ripped bottoms (and the hairy ankles being plug-ins rather than part of the leg) I can only think of two potential reuses: original form Caliban of the Morlocks, and SIMON GARTH!! Come on! Those are Zombie Legs!!!

Joking aside, he's certainly one of my favorites of the year. I've had him and Crystar on my coffee table ever since I got Warbow in and I love looking at them posed together. Would love to see Moltar and Ogeode eventually.

Heck, they even have me thinking about picking up a month of Marvel Unlimited to read the series (assuming they're on there)

I've never even heard of Crystar before these Legends figures came out. I have vague memories of A LOT of toy lines from the '80s. Zero recollection of these. If I had heard of them, maybe I'd have some nostalgia for them. As is, I don't have any disdain for their existence, and can appreciate their quality, but there are so many characters I'd rather have figures of.

I just want to be clear about something. I don't have any disdain for Warbow's existence, either. I am far from a completionist with Marvel Legends. There's a lot of figures I've skipped over the last few years. I skipped Silver Surfer, Black Widow and DD in the last mini comic wave, for example. I'm good with the Surfer, Widow and DD I already have. It's perfectly fine. Making a character I have no interest in saves me money and room on my shelf.

And I would have happily skipped Warbow too and never given it a second thought. Except ... for the BAF. I needed that Executioner piece, but I'm not paying 30 dollars for a figure and then turning around and giving it to Goodwill. Nope, nope, nope. Not gonna do it.

It's okay. It all worked out in the end thanks to the generosity of a member of this community. But I wish it didn't have to be this way.

I have this uncomfortable feeling that the same guy who came up with Warbow is the same guy who came up with pink Valentine's Day Iron Man. That's okay, he's gonna save me a lot of money but he's not gonna be popular with Legends fans. He may understand toys ("It pops on a shelf!") but he doesn't seem to get Marvel.

Pink Iron Man? What the fuck dude?
