Masters of the Universe: Masterverse

PoP Grizzlor is adorable and I love his furry armor. I was appreciating him just today, before seeing this SLANDER that you want something different than what I like. But really, variety is the spice of life, next Grizzlor should have sculpted fur and look badass.

I think they are just careful with how much MV they release a year. I mean we have had an ok spread, its just not as nuts as Legends or even Classified.

This year is:
NE Panthor
NE Moss-Man
Vintage Skeletor
Vintage Stratos
Vintage Man At Arms
Vintage Faker
Vintage Zodac
NE Roboto
NE Randor
NE Beast Man V2
NE Ninjor
NE Terror Claws Skeletor
NE She-Ra
Movie Blade
NE Teela
NE Kobra Khan
NE Hordak
NE Mosquitor
NE Mantenna
Anti Eternia He-Man

That's 20 figures including 2 deluxes, which isn't too bad. I dont think that indicates a line thats ending, just a line they take carefully
I don’t mind it. 20 figures is like a good amount to collect in a year for me but not so much that I’m like getting mad at how much it’s costing

I have three Skelcons and he's probably my Masterverse figure of the year...when those suckers go any lower I'm stocking up!

I had even bought some and had them in my pile of loot but decided I wanted something else more so I cancelled them and used my store credit for the shinier thing. I still really want Skelcons though.

I used the three-toed feet from the Skelcons to swap onto other Skeletor figures I have.

I wound up impulse buying Motherboard from the members sale at Mattel Creations. 22.75 is a nice price.

wow didn't realize you members got 50% off, this is the first time I've wanted a mattel membership! i'd be buying up a bunch of stuff (even that Ken sweatshirt is tempting...)

It’s just for those select items, which is kind of common and lame. It’s a piddly sale, just a chance to clear some stock out. Nothing writing home about. I struggled to find anything else I wanted but wound up getting an extra Geldor and the Voltron Team Little People set.

Would I be kicked off this board if I said I'd prefer they at least give the option of a Grizzlor with sculpted hair instead of soft goods? HYPOTHETICALLY.
I'd honestly prefer him to have sculpted fur as well.

Hey my konra khan finally came in!

Nice looking figure… but the venom absolutely does not fit into the hole in the mouth at all.

Mine did? Not sure whats going on there....
It looks like there’s a plastic piece from the head (like the metallic green) that protrudes just a little too far down and closes up the hole too much. Probably just like right on the other side of tolerance from where it should be.

Not that big of a deal but annoying

Drove an hour to the closest Walmart that has an actual toy section. The least-busy Walmart on the outskirts of town is the only one that stocks MOTU or the new toy display. Anyway, bummer, they didn't have any Vintage figs newer than Zodac. I did find a Kobra Khan hiding on the top of the toy isle (yay being tall) along with a KLUT. KLUT's torso paint job looked so bad. Very stoked to get KK, although I'm realizing my Amazon copy coming next week can't be cancelled bc I had some free shipping filler items. So...kind of a waste of 90 minutes? Oh well. Very jealous of people who have nearby stores with better stock.

Quick thoughts on Kobra Khan: gorgeous figure. love the paintjob on the claw hands especially, and just in general he looks quite nice. But his articulation resistances are trash. He does not feel good at all. His shoulders and elbows are incredibly tight (his left shoulder feels like it could crack off any moment), and his boot swivels and thigh swivels are very loose. So like, you just know he's not going to age well. Marbled plastic joints isn't the way to go. Masterverse are the only figures that randomly fall off my wall shelves in the middle of the night, I fully expect this guy to topple as well.
