Any other hockey nuts on this board?

Big San Jose Sharks fan here. Yes I know they suck right now. But they are my team forever through the highs and lows.

Anyway, caught the end of the Jets/Blues game. Great comeback by Winnipeg.
Watching the Stars/Avalanche right now. The marque matchup of the first round in my mind.
 
I'm a Stars fan. I'm fairly new to hockey and have only been watching since they were in the Winter Classic. I don't have high hopes for them to advance too far in the playoffs after their colossal final few games crash and burn this season but you never know.
 
Predictions for the first round.

Jets over the Blues in 7.
Stars over the Avalanche in 7.
Golden Knights over the Wild in 6.
Kings over the Oilers in 6.

Maple Leafs over the Senators in 5.
Hurricanes over the Devils in 6.
Capitols over the Canadians in 4.
Panthers over the Lightning in 7.

I'd have more faith in the Stars if they still had Joe Pavelski. His leadership, skilled offensive prowess, and defense will be missed these playoffs. What ever happens in this series, a true contender for the Stanley Cup will be eliminated in the first round. That's rough!
 
I wish he had stuck around for one more year but he was kind of starting to show his age already last season and didn't seem nearly as ageless as he had the prior few years. I definitely miss him. I know you hated to see him leave the Sharks.
 
Strong showing by Colorado in game 1. Tough loss for Dallas but a long way to go in this evenly matched series.

The marque match up in the east is the Florida/Tampa Bay series.

I love playoff hockey!
 
I'm an extremely casual hockey fan. I'd pay some attention to the regular season if the Kraken were good.

I try to tune in to as many playoff games as I can, though. It's a great sport.
 
The Stars/Avalanche game went exactly as I was thinking it would. I don't know what happened to the Stars the final few games of the season but it seems to have persisted into the playoffs.
 
Rangers fan here. Used to be hardcore but I don't like the softening of the game and how ties are handled so I've been tailing off for, oh 2 decades now. lol. Not even going to watch the playoffs until the scrub teams are eliminated.

Aren't they missing a couple of key players? I suspect they are a bit banged up. If they are, not a great way to start the playoffs.
 
That was one hell of a game last night. Can't believe the Stars won in OT and evened the series AND broke the 8 game losing streak.
 
And they did it without Jason and Miro ;)
I work very early in the morning, so I missed the 3rd period and OT. I'll have to check the recording later. Highlights were great though.
It's so tough to keep up. Playoff hockey, especially round one, is just bonkers. Just really great stuff!

It's insane! I don't know how they keep doing it. In the past we weren't traditionally good in OT but now here we are in 2 games winning in OT.
