Hockey (NHL, college, minors, International)

Yeah I'm pretty hyped up for the game tonight. Our Finns have been hat trick crazy during the playoffs. Hoping Roope Hintz can get in on that streak too. You are right that Miro and Robertson aren't back up to par yet, but I'm hoping they get a bit closer each game.

Well I'm glad I had to work super early this morning. I made it through two periods last night and decided I had to go to bed or I'd hate myself this morning. I would have REALLY hated myself this morning if I had stayed up for that thrashing. Stars in 6!

I'm glad they took care of business quickly. My blood pressure was not ready for a full OT or god forbid double OT. Really sad about the Jets guy's dad dying yesterday and then he showed up to play the game and was the one in the penalty box which resulted in the power play that won the Stars the game. Felt really bad for the guy. He didn't seem to be taking the loss too well.

Mark Scheifele went through an incredible emotional roller coaster today. Losing his father. Scoring the first goal. Taking the penalty that led to the series clincher for the Stars. I feel bad for him. I don't look forward to the day my father passes. I consider him one of my best friends. Nothing but empathy for Scheifele.

And I imagine he was able to push all the thoughts of his father out of his mind while focusing on the game but now that the season is over he's got to face it. I guess the reality was sinking in during the final handshake line where everyone from the Stars was hugging him. I didn't realize he scored the first goal. I missed the first two periods because I was doing a birthday thing for my mother so when she left I turned the game on and it was already second intermission.

The leafs never fail to disappoint :p

Absolutely pathetic performance for Toronto. Their superstars totally disappeared again. I'm sure there will be some changes to their core this time.

Hoping for a Dallas v Florida Final.

The Leafs are discovering new ways to disappoint their fans every year. Blowing a 2-0 series lead wasn't enough, they had to force a game seven at home and get blown out.

Holyyyyy shit. This game! It started out a bit depressing and then the Stars just started the slaughter and didn't let up.

Well it's not looking good for the Stars or Hurricanes and a Stars/Hurricanes final was what I was hoping for.

Realistically I don't see the Stars OR the Oilers being able to beat the Panthers in the finals so I think it's Panthers no matter what happens in this round.
