Tracking toy tariffs

It's one thing with it being him. He's a mouth breathing imbecile, and we all know that.

But what's the catch for those around him? Where are the adults in the room? Every single economist stated before he took office how bad tariffs would be. And yet, used car salesman, Howard Lutnick...he knows better?

And now, where are the adults saying "No. You are NOT going to fucking do this. You tried, they failed, the Courts said no, we are done with the bullshit"?
They were “primaried”.

He raised them to 15%, which my understanding is the limit under the current law he's using to justify it. The same one that limits the imposition to 150 days without Congressional extension.

Is there anything stopping him from just repeating these every 151 days or should this be ‘the end’ of them without congress backing him? What a roller coaster between the tariffs struck down by the Supreme Court, to the 150 day 10% new tariffs, to releasing the alien files, to the tariffs now to 15%. It’s amazing anyone manages to import anything successfully these days.

I flit through the Economics Reddit and every supposed money nerd there said these new ones are legal and valid and everyone should have expected this.

Technically the Court needs to approve anything past 150, but it sounds like even if he doesn't care, he has other loopholes and these were all known retaliations.

He's using a provision that's never been applied to tariffs before sonif someone were to sue that would be their argument. From the WSJ:

"
“Section 122 was originally devised to handle balance of payment issues in currency markets. Some scholars argue it was rendered obsolete when the U.S. abandoned the gold standard and adopted a system of floating exchange rates. It has never before been used for tariffs, but it remains unclear whether any company or organization will challenge the temporary levies.”

As some of you know, I grew up in Norway in the lead-up to the fall of the Soviet Union, thanks to my dad being a Marine fighter pilot charged with that front for NATO. So I got to go around Europe too. And a big change when I came back to the states was realizing how small-minded and ignorant a lot of Americans were, even as a middle schooler. And I lived in four different states s across both coasts and the Midwest so it was a decent sampling.

So when Trump opens his mouth, and I know most of you know this, I just got to get it out, and people fall in line about some of the stuff, it's because they are stupid.

He talks about everyone leeching off America and never giving back.

Motherfuckers.

The US is near exclusively the source of weapons to the West and their other industry and business crushed foreign markets with questionable to no regulation.

That's what you got back.

Military stationed all over the world, who trained with allies symbiotically. Then those allies deployed or supported every war America fought as World Police.

That's what you got back.

And none of that matters anyway because this isn't for about retribution or reparation but just lining his own pockets and his buddies while project 25 steers him towards the collateral damage they desire.

It's just really shocking how dumb and ignorant Americans are, even on a state versus state bases. It would be the a great country if people actually understood how it worked and had empathy and critical thinking skills to serve the people. But I digress because as we all seen in the files and we all know growing up, keeping them stupid and underfed is kind of the points of these not so secret powers.

I gotta circle back on myself cuz I ADHD one of my main points.

The getting back. If you as a citizen don't think that you got anything back from this. You need to take that up the government because they're the ones with all these sweet contracts and deals, and that money was supposed to go back into making our life great. They didn't even need to make it great again. They were supposed to be making it great the first time.

But you know. Scapegoats are the American way.

Well, look at our education system, especially pre-2000s.

Our history books whitewash everything. Our history is romanticized and glorified. We were consistently fed the American Dream line of bullshit, and told that there wouldn't be a world without America. We would pledge allegiance to the fucking flag every God damned morning. Ooh rah.

The list goes on and on. We are not taught the way of the world, we aren't taught the RIGHT way--we were taught the WHITE way. And every step of the way, boomers fed into it. Why do you think so many of them are up at arms over Critical Race Theory?

We are lead to be stupid, ignorant, blind. Don't kneel during our Anthem, don't let that flag touch the ground. We were conditioned to be stupid to keep us in line and not question anything, the American Way is the way to be--dumb, dumb, dumb. So it absolutely does not baffle or surprise me in any fashion that someone like a Trump could gain power.

And then...the true kicker: It was pounded into our heads from the onset of high school: you HAVE to go to college. You won't amount to anything unless you go to college.

And yet...they don't want us to have any help paying for that college (leaving us in mountains of debt) colleges are just liberal brainwashing tanks, and most of us can't make anything of ourselves because income is not matching inflation. So that whole idea of the American Dream that they were so God damned adamant about? Long since dead.

Now we have morons getting kicked in the nuts and smiling and asking for more. Because America, baby. We are back!!

Fucking idiots.
