X-Men Wishlist - Just For Fun!

With them finishing the Astonishing team in relatively short order, they have to polish off the Outback team now. Armored Psylocke and shirtless Colossus and call it good.

Or just do this two pack.

Because anyone who draws knows how easy it is to get your hot plutonic friend/teammate to just casually pose naked for you on a lazy Saturday. No biggie.

If you aren't a super creep about it and have artsy friends it's not necessarily that big a deal. I never drew a friend totally nude, but some in states of undress, and a couple probably would have been ok with it if I'd asked. For the X-Men in particular I think it sells. Just feels like that kind of group. If these two were Avengers though? No way.

So a slight detour of topic: a while back I was doing some X-men fanart stuff for fun that was basically me inventing new cards for the 90's style collectible sets. My theme was X-Men team-up moves. I only completed 5, but I had Ideas for over a dozen I just never got to. Several of them were Fastball variants and this specific one I had down as the villain team-up move "Railgun Special".

The ones I completed were "Flashbang" (Banshee supercharges Dazzler), "Roll the Bones" (Gambit using Marrow's growths as ammo), "Lost in Translation" (Rachel and Doug telepathically encode someone's thoughts to shield them from interrogation), "Voltron Special" (everyone touches Rogue so she becomes a super powerhouse), and a version of the "Fastball Special" (Armor doing the throwing).

The ones I didn't get to were things like "Magik Bullet", "Wrecking Ball Special", "Railgun Special", "Perpetual Mayhem Machine", "Black Swan", and "Tropical Getaway". Which I'll let you think on the names and their possible meanings. The hard part for some of them was how to show them in a single image, but it was a fun little art project. I still think about going back and finishing the set off at times.

Were I to ever work on X-Men (slim chance) I'd definitely incorporate a lot of what you described. I always enjoyed the aspects I remember from the 90s where their powers and abilities were used to compliment eachother. Using Colossus as a wrecking ball in X-Men #1 where Archangel flies him and then flings him at an object (Sentinel, building, or otherwise) and he transforms mid-air into his metallic form always stuck with me.

There was a Jim Lee card, as I remember, can't find it though. Where I think Cable and Forge were riding piggyback on 2 fliers (Banshee and Cannonball I think) and using their weapons to fire. I thought that was a decent use of combining abilities. I'd imagine Cannonball would be the more useful of the two as such though.

I particularly like your Banshee/Dazzler and Marrow/Gambit combinations as those are one's I hadn't thought of before. You should definitely show your artwork as you depicted these combos if you still have it.

Exactly where I was going with "wrecking ball special". Like, to the page that was the reference.

I'll throw them up in the art sharing thread later tonight. I've definitely still got them.

Posted the cards over here.

Yet, Mellancamp survived. Next Acolyte appearance, he was there active with the rest of them. Head intact. Memories intact. And appeared several times afterwards, with only the ANAD X-Factor acknowledging that he was killed. I believe he was essentially spared by Writerus Noncommicatious.
Mellancamp survived, but everyone forgot about when his codename was Johnny Cougar.

Colossus in his BVDs, and Psylocke in, well, nothing.. I’m sure some fanboy, somewhere, will do a custom of this.
