X-Men '97

I don't think the price is going to keep me away. This is the Archangel I've been wanting for a while and I think he'll slot in well to my comic shelf even.
 
I wish he came with the two tiered wings more in keeping with the comics, even though I recognize this is the animated version. The X-Force Archangel's wings were just too light in color for my tastes. I guess I'm keeping the older ML Archangel with the more "glider" looking fold out wings as well as getting this one. Honestly I don't think the old one was that bad, this just seems like a marginal upgrade compared to it. Plus I don't like the clawed looking hands with the fingernails we're getting in this version since that's not what he had in the animated series either. He might have sharp nails in X97, but I sincerely doubt it. This could have benefited from the flechette feather attachment more than a copy of Cable's gun that I'm ultimately just going to give to Cable and he'll have 2 of the same.
 
I'm so annoyed that Hasbro refuses to fix the forearm cut on figures that do not need it. It's terrible design, ugly and unnecessary!!

That said, I'm buying this because I want Bucky Cap bucks gone.

I genuinely think they keep them just because it's easier to calibrate the paint on most figures' forearms. Of course they could do that without, but in 5 years they're going to laud the removal of the forearm cuts like they've lauded the removal of pins.
 
It looks like the wings may be a bit darker then the last set, from the BBTS pics anyway. Also, no right fist. Instead he gets a trigger finger for the gun he absolutely needed. And is there an explanation as to why hes missing the 2 smaller wing pieces? I like the new body better then the old one, but I'm not huge on these wings. I'll preorder it but I'm not as excited as I wanna be for it.

I preordered Archangel as I'm a sucker for X-Men 92/97 stuff. I'll be sure to make a very pedantic post about all of the animation inaccuracies when the figure arrives this summer.
