In fairness this happens every single year. Companies always try to clear some expenses off the books heading into a new year, especially if the calendar year is also their fiscal year as well. For the record, I'm not saying that there won't be more this year than usual - just that this happens even in great economies. The timing obviously always sucks. I was a victim of this in 2008 and it took me nearly a decade to recover.merry xmas
