I'm decidedly more of a Pearl Jam guy, but I love The Man Who Sold the World in all its forms. That Unplugged session is so legendary that I discovered it as a teenager ~15 years later.

They were definitely a "right band at the right time" kind of deal. I enjoy them and have their entire discography, but that's because it ended up being 5 CDs including Unplugged? I still don't think of myself as some big Nirvana fan, but they did well with the short time they had.I don't like how revered Nirvana is, even after so many years. I really, extra don't like how it's mostly deserved.
Fun story; despite being a huge Nirvana fan (and a fan of other '90s grunge); I generally do not like Pearl Jam and will actively change the song if they come across my Spotify.I'm decidedly more of a Pearl Jam guy, but I love The Man Who Sold the World in all its forms. When I posted that, I knew in my bones that someone would reply saying as much. I thought it might be you.Fun story; despite being a huge Nirvana fan (and a fan of other '90s grunge); I generally do not like Pearl Jam and will actively change the song if they come across my Spotify.
Heh, I know. I still have dreams it's back.Back when you had some hair too...
not that I should talk...
I feel attacked.I thought it might be you.

To be clear, I don't think of it as hating on PJ or anything. I fully recognize their contribution to the scene and that they have tons of fans. I'd even say they're almost certainly more technically proficient than Nirvana - and their songwriting is 'technically' better as well. I just don't find that I like any of their music.
They're just another Beatles to me; a band everyone says is great, and I can intellectually understand the arguments they make, but that I still cannot tolerate.
