Super 7 Ultimates Thread

Jagara is a big temptation for me, but I'm not sure if I'll get her. I've only bought the ThunderCats and the main Mutants (and both main Mumm-Ra looks) at this point. She's technically a ThunderCat, so the pull is strong...

I should note that I can imagine at some point I'll start to get some of my favorite secondary characters like Snowman, Hachiman, and Willa. But that all depends on if a Snow Meow is ever produced. I collected the PVC figures as a kid, and Snowman just doesn't work without his best bud.

How many Thundercats characters have had toy color versions made? I can think of:
Lion-O
Cheetara
Jaga
Snarf
Mumm-Ra the Everliving
Monkian
Jackal Man?
Grune

I got the new Ghost Ultimates figure in today of Papa V Perpetua. I was quite displeased with the fit of the soft goods on the last Ghost figure. There were multiple layers and they got real bunched up and frumpy around the neck and the fit was nothing like the solicitation images. For V, they opted for a mix of soft goods and plastic which drapes over the shoulders. The plastic adds weight and tidies things up so it's much closer to the images, but comes with a new problem. The plastic is pretty unforgiving and effectively pins his arms to his sides. His shoulders are useless. You get just a little out of the elbows, but it does next to nothing. Why didn't they just put some slits in this thing? Make it more pliable? They fixed one problem and created another. They also sold him with an image of him holding up "the horns" in front of his face which this figure has no prayer of being able to do.

I haven't received my Papa V yet, but it doesn't surprise me at all. I only get these to have representation of the band in figure form, but each one of them has had issues of some sort. This one also bugs me in that he is the first one you can't really switch to a different look. Both heads have the mitre, so you can't give him his more casual look, which all the other Papas have had with the exception of Papa I (who never had a casual look, so that doesn't bother me).

These are the only Ultimates I own. I got rid of the two "The Worst" figures I bought, because...well...they were the worst! Only one of the Papa figures I own will stand without a doll stand, and I fully expect this one to be the same. Super7 sucks.

Yeah, it's weird they didn't give him an alternate look, but also the plastic portion of the robe isn't easily removable so that may have played a role. Or the band didn't share details about the other looks he'd have, but by the time the figure went up for preorder we had already seen the more casual look in the "Lachryma" video so I don't know. It's basically the Papa IV body with a silver jacket - seems easy enough. I also wonder if the design of the shawl (for lack of a better term) was too complex for soft good and that's why they went with plastic? Seems at least possible. It's better than the awfulness that was Papa IV's vestments, but it's still just crazy to me that they struggle with issues other companies figured out decades ago. I also noticed in comparing the figure to the promotional shots that they removed a layer of black from the robe which should be in the front. Probably a cost-cutting move, but how much did that save? They literally just needed to stick a piece of black fabric inside the robe.

I modded Snarf's bag and made a slit so now i can put the Sword of Omenz (compact mode) in there. Also repainted it brown instead of orange.
