Star Wars Black Series

Were we talking about the sticky "Baby Yoda" name here? I remember thinking, "I know his name's not Baby Yoda, but whatever they come up with will never be as catchy as Baby Yoda." I mean look at him. He's adorable. Yoda was also cute in his centuries-old way. And we never really got a definitive species name for him, have we? We previously only knew of Yaddle as also being part of his species. And they decide to call him Grogu? So for lack of better terms, the child ward of the Mandalorian (who also initially had no name) would be called Baby Yoda, after two of the cutest things our collective experiences can associate with it. I'm never gonna not call him that.

I have a feeling that Yoda’s species kind of treats the candidate they send to the Jedi as a golden child. Bred to be pure and as close to the Force as a being can be. So they get lots of preferential treatment. There isn’t anything they could do to create a more enduring name than the fan given baby Yoda. Honestly Din DJarin isn’t the badass name I thought Mando would have. Boba Fett and Cade Bane are cool names.

Thwipp!

My favorite Star Wars name of the last few years is Toro Calican and they utterly wasted it. Mando should have been Toro Calican!

Decided to continue my rewatch in roughly chronological order since I've never done that. I kinda want to also watch the shows but I ain't got enough time for that at the moment and I've literally seen every show more recently than the movies so they're fresher in my mind. Anyway, on to Solo tonight, a film I am pretty okay with and will defend as a decent story, but as someone who is vaguely visually impaired, Jesus Fuck the first half of that movie is hard to literally see ANYTHING. Lighting a film really is a lost art.

But that being said, glad I got Enfys Nest for ten bucks last week. Wish we got Grown Up Q'ira in Black Series. The supporting cast is great. I refuse to believe Aurra Sing let Tobias Beckett get the best of her even though I enjoy Beckett as a character but they really already nailed most of the characters we'd need otherwise, yeah? Rare film these days where I don't feel shorted in terms of the accompanying action figures.

Ha, literally just turned on Emilia Clarke in PONIES. Still want the correct Q'ira!!

I started Rebels for the first time. Not sure why I waited so long but three episodes in and I like it (shocker - people like it). Was a little disappointed to see Threepio and R2 in episode 3 but eh - give the new characters *some* space.

This is gonna make me want The Ghost...

Speaking of characters we still need - Clone Wars Bo Katan! I know we have live-action, and that one needs a S3 portrait update bad, but it's crazy Hasbro hasn't updated this character with new heads.

Oh my God. Hasbro did it to me again. I mention this in this and other threads sometimes. But when ever Pulse starts getting a new Wave in, they always ship the figure I want most, last.

Well, finally after all the waiting Pulse finally shipped the Wave with Kyle Katarn, Jedi Dooku, etc. but they didn't ship Quinlan Vos. I want Quinlan Vos the most, and they did it again. They shipped the entire Wave but the one I want most.

I'm telling you it's personal. Pulse Personal.

Truly it's no big deal. I always get all my stuff. But it never fails. Whatever figure I want most from a Marvel Legends, GI Joe Classified, or Star Wars Black Series Wave, it's always the one I get last lol.

I found like 30 Clone Urban Commando and training Battle Droid 2 packs at Wal Mart here. They didn't have shit else for clearance, but a bunch of those for $25 a piece. I grabbed 2 cause I like having more then 1 of each battle droid. Ill alter one of the Commandos to make him somewhat different then the other one at some point. But for $25 a pop I was definitely grabbing a couple.

Ain't that always the truth? And if I only order 1 figure, I somehow get it after almost every other site gets theirs. 😅 It's part of the reason I stopped ordering from Pulse unless I absolutely have to. I know it's no consolation, but Quinlan is a really nice figure. I think he'll be worth the wait for you.

I don't know how I managed to sleep on Quinlan Vos. I have no POs for him anywhere. I might just have to rely on retail luck.

I did not army build on purpose, but I just re-aligned my Imperials last night because I've been wanting to do some photography with the new Dark Times Jedi we just got (trying to figure out if Kyle, Quinlan, Desert Kenobi, Bearded Ezra, or Jod Na Nawood might have ever crossed paths, how old Cobb Vanth is in the Dark Times, etc) and I fucking DEFINITELY accidentally army built storm troopers. Like, just getting one here, one there, some Gamestop exclusive over there, a two-pack one, etc... I won't say I have too many because they're storm troopers and it's a childhood dream to have an army of them, but one figure at a time over like ten years, I have a gaggle. A flock, even. I need some sort of chart explaining the ranks of the shoulder pauldrons. (I bet @Ru1977 knows this off the top of his head!)

And yet I have ONE snow trooper. All by himself.

@docsilence the movies never say, but the consensus is orange is captain, white is sergeant, and black is enlisted, which doesn't make sense because isn't sergeant an enlisted rank? So I always assume black is corporal, and the guys without pauldrons (there are a few in Mos Eisley in the Special Edition version, and one that goes with them to Docking Bay 94) are privates.

I definitely have orange, one white, maybe one black? And I've got a red one but I think that was a video game blowtorch specialist or something. IIRC the white pauldron came with my favorite Black Series piece ever, the dewback.
