Star Wars Black Series

They got into Star Wars Miniatures and are amazing.

So did Cade Skywalker.

Twice.

I unironically love that game just for the depth of characters it covered. Basically my ideal SWBS line is every character from that game, plus the original animated characters. Give me that combo and I'll be happy for life.
They also had figures in the 4" line .. I guess like a decade ago now. But those Imperial Knights were some of the last 4" Star Wars figures in my collection before I just decided I didn't want any of them because it was too steep of a rabbit hole for me.

Here I am over here, feeling very neglected that all this reaching into the SW lore hasn't gotten us even a single Imperial Knight. I'm afraid the relationship to Cade Skywalker, a character I think they want to pretend never existed because of the ST, might be hampering any engagement with that part of the mythos. And it's very upsetting. Imperial Knights are some of the baddest ass looking characters in Star Wars.
This. I loved that book, and I'd really like to see some of the concepts and characters from it brought into canon. The Imperial Knights looked fantastic, the Sith were all really cool designs, and Cade was just excellent as a very conflicted protagonist.

(Though I'm still pissed we haven't gotten more of Revan's crew. Whither art thou, Carth Onasi?)
Yeah I'm still a sucker for the KotoR folks.

I never read those books but they did look sick as hell.

I'd also love to see them do what the smaller old lines did and run through more of the OG concept designs for Han, Luke, Leia and such. We got the two pack with Obi and Vader but they were, I felt, pretty half-assed. Of course they would be, because any of the rest would require a lot more original tooling.

Agreed. Lots of SWB gets new tooling, though. I don't know why they'd shy away from it with almost anything at this point. SW is a guaranteed seller and there's no way a collector-focused line like SWB won't be able to move units of figures based on concept stuff. Collectors love shit like that.

That book did one of my favorite things ever in Star Wars when it basically said that the events of the OT and what came after with Luke and his school and all that shit created a new world where a large percentage of Force Users just wanted to serve the Emperor (a 'good guy' at that point) without any regard for bullshit religiosity. They weren't GREY Jedi (fucking EW), they were knights. Just knights. And they acted like knights. Not monks or evil wizards. Just warriors with lightsabers and force skills living basically entirely secular, military lives.
It's one of the things in SW that makes -the most sense-, and it bothers me so much that the entire idea seems to have been abandoned since Disney took over.

One thing I liked a lot about that time in the EU was that between that and KotoR 2 they started to really explore the idea that the Force belonged to everybody and there were tons of ways people had not only decided to use it, but loads of different traditions on how it should be used. They've occasionally given us a little of that. Chirrut in Rogue One. The nightsisters. But it feels so much more restrained. And with as flawed as the Jedi are, and as sinister as basically every other large sect of force users ends up, it seems like the only folks who ever get to be good force users are lone wolves.

I got Kyle and Nic Cage Dooku yesterday, and I agree- great figures all around. All my complaints with the wave are fairly superficial as well.

Kyle is probably my "least" favorite of the wave, but that could mostly be because he's the one I'm least familiar with. He feels like a "Kyle"- nothing great, but nothing bad, just kinda there. Still leagues better than many older Black Series, and I suppose every wave has to have the "least good" one. I'll agree that he could look pretty cool with a cloak- even something a bit shorter than the typical Jedi robes. Even a hooded cloak that doesn't really go past his shoulders- just something to spruce him up a bit. If anyone finds a good one, let me know!

I haven't used any of the swoosh effects yet on the wave, but if anyone has, are they as heavy as the previous ones we've gotten, like the Mustafar pack? Even after one or two uses on those, they weighed down the wrist joint and even started to bend at the peg a bit, which makes me nervous to use them here. Only upside I can see is that they seem to be a little less wide than the more problematic ones from the 2 pack.

Yeah, that's why I think a Lando style cape. Something jaunty that comes down to like the knees.

Immediate thoughts would be-

Jecki's robe? But it may be too small for him
Baylon or Shin's hooded robe thing- might also be either too big or too small.
Tibidon Station Kenobi cape wrap thing? That might look best, but I don't have one handy to try.
Ach-To Luke's robe? Also don't know if I still have one.

Happy that Embo will be getting a figure finally. Don't care if it's in a white box or not since that will be going in a recycle bin.

Oooh if true Wave 2 is much more interesting already. Although wasn’t Zeb a deluxe last time? Definitely want that creepy Remnant Snooper, and Embo is most welcome just in general.
