Star Wars Black Series

The only Din I have ever owned was the original figure with his first episode look, so I still have that rifle and the new version holds it REALLY well. The hands alone are a massive improvement. I opened him, gave him the rifle, and have him brandishing it with his head cocked slightly to the side as if to say "...go for it, sculag."

I'm guessing this figure used a lot of parts from the Deathwatch guy and/or Axe Woves.

Axe was one of those "for a character with like eight lines, they KILLED it with this figure" Star Wars classics.
 
Two trips to Target today, two stories.

First trip couldn't get to the Mando figures to see the new stuff because two people were FILMING themselves going "oh new Mando and Grogu figure drops!!" and then not making any room for just, y'know, a normal customer to see bc they have to show this to their eight followers. UGH. I grabbed a Ward and walked off.

Second trip, because that's how the day went, I was able to see everything and they had put the First Edition kicker out. I decided WTH - I'll buy the full set - retail therapy!! They all rang up on sale. The Ward I bought earlier in the day, same store, rang up full price, but the First Editions came up at $22.99. TVC and some TBS figs are on sale on the website now. Now that I'm looking the DPCI numbers are different from the regular Ward I bought and the First Edition. That's odd.

I may just keep this new Mando at that price. Pagadon also looks nice.

Hey nothing wrong with getting new stuff on sale. Maybe it was the universe giving back for having to put up with the idiots earlier.
 
I was pleasantly surprised by the sale too. Got the whole wave in white boxes except remnant Stormtrooper.

Now this silly psychological thing is happening with the packaging. First it looks good in the white. And the silver sticker is a nice touch. I’m hesitant to open it.

Now I preordered the one Ru1977 mentions above and I was surprised to see the same peg point for the Holiday Special/disintegration gun. That weapon is so dang cool. I think I lamented its demise more than the Razor Crest. Only a bit more. I’m not mad he has the Crest again in the film. Awesome ship! So having that fig is helping fill the need for opening new Figgies. The brown leg Stormtrooper came too. It’s okay.

What a fun day! Starting the day with my Mando hat and Disney Spirit jersey to get breakfast tacos with my wife then popping into Target and seeing the 20% off tag on the mailer. The display was mostly in tact but the missing Stormtroopers. Giddy to grab one of each and head to checkout. Cancelled Pulse preorder.

Forgot the new old Mando didn't come with a rifle. May have to parse through my many (many) extra weapons and parts; I'm sure, in all the previous Mandos I bought, I have an extra rifle lying around. Does the new one even have the peg hole in his back for the rifle, then, if he doesn't come with it?

New Mando does have a peg hole in the back of his armor for the rifle.
