Star Wars Black Series

Pecker Tripple is a fantastic Star Wars hero name. I can totally see him as the cocky (see what I did there?) hotshot pilot. Team him up with Porkins for endless fun- Pecker and Porkins. Peck and Jek.

Finally got around to messing around with the latest wave, and I'm really liking them. Don't know if there's a clear favorite- I really like Quinlan and, surprisingly, Kyle. Don't really know much about either, but maybe that's what's leading to my enjoyment- they feel fun and new. Kyle especially- something about dual wielding a saber and blaster was always so badass to me. There's nothing wrong with Seventh Sister or Dooku, they just feel a little more on the plain/familiar side side. I do wish 7S had a bit more range in her legs- the skirt keeps her from getting too dynamic. While I'm appreciative they threw in the droid, I think it really would've benefitted from some sort of smaller flight stand. I do like her mask/helmet, though. The separate face place works really well. I wish the helmet itself was a little more tightly fitting, but that's just a little nerdy nitpick.

I'm thankful for the fanned blades too- a little more bang for your buck- but I do worry about how they'll hold up over time. The heavier ones especially, like on Quinlan and 7S- they just weigh things down so much. The pegs themselves start to sag a bit, and they put pressure on the joints of the figure, which I'd imagine would get a bit looser over time (though maybe not as egregiously as the old joints). The smaller fans on Dooku and Kyle aren't quite as bad, though still a little heavy. Maybe if they made them hollow pieces, versus solid plastic?

I'm still a bit torn on the new wrists as well- I like them, but I do miss the range of the old swivel-hinge joints, even if they didn't necessarily look entirely natural at times. But if they can find a way to give a tiny bit more range in the wrists- whether making the socket a little wider or whatever- then I think I'd like them a little more. But I'd also worry about them loosening to the point of being unusable after a while. Don't know what the solution is.

Still, a really fun, really solid wave. Some really great improvements have been made to the line in the last year or so that make me really excited for the future of the line. I'm eager to see what, if any, of the new things have been added to the new Plo. He and Kit are still awesome figures, but they do stand out a bit just because of the older bodies. Plo's my fav Jedi, so having an updated version with the newer body would be a dream.

Whoa whoa whoa they are called “NELWYNS”.
Get your Daikini ass back to Nockmaar.
I know that was a passive burn, but I'm just kinda flattered you basically called me "tall". I'm by no means short, mind you, but the amount in which I slouch could probably classify me as a Nelwyn most days. I'll be riding that high all day.

Bantha Skull used to have the Banthapedia. It was full of all kinds of silly background characters, with even sillier names. Those were the days for sure.

I've mentioned that a few times here and damnit but I wish I could remember more of the names. If I did Banthapedia now, I would have catalogued everything on a spreadsheet. Mustachioed Hoth Rebel Commander Dick Meeting is clearly the one that crossed out of the banthasphere as you can find mentions on other sites still, but Jabba henchman Chuck Steak is still one of my favorites.

Unrelated to Dick Meeting, I decided to randomly rewatch Phantom Menace on the treadmill this morning (I've mentioned my crazy memory for story and how I don't really watch things multiple times anymore). Probably haven't seen it since the first DVD version came out, to be honest. It's funny, what's wrong with it is so very, very wrong ("are you an angel," betting to free the child and not the mother, the racially sus accents etc) but as a vehicle for making people want to buy toys, it really does still work, yeah? I want some Nemoidians, some Naboo guards and pilots, handmaidens, Gungans, maybe even some rank-specific battle droids. Like, I don't think the script got better with age, but the designs are still toyetic AF.

I finally finished Andor S2 last night and even for a show like that, I kinda want figures of boring dudes like Wilmon and Syrus Karn. It’s so dumb.

Also Adria Arjona is a goddess

Yeah, I'd buy multiple guys in the same prison outfit, to be fair.

though I'd prefer post-prison Melshi if we could get him. I feel like Syrus has got to be on the roadmap SOMEWHERE since we got Dedra.
