I'm not sure I have the real-estate for a 40 inch diameter display, but this is indeed impressive if they can pull it off.
I'm sure I don't, but the modular nature sells me. Just having the captain's chair and conn pit for everyone to gather around is enough. Being able to add background seats for Uhura and Spock is a bonus.I'm not sure I have the real-estate for a 40 inch diameter display, but this is indeed impressive if they can pull it off.
I'm 99% with you on this. There's a teeny part of me, though, that wonders when I'll ever get another chance at a full playset and I probably should get the viewscreen just for reverse angle photography and at that point I might as well get them all.I dont feel a need for a full circle bridge. i suppose you can have a viewscreen but it would also just block your view of the crew.
Yep, Paramount shut him down. He just announced it yesterday and I am bummed. I just asked him on FB what the difference is between his stuff and something like Stan Solo who does really good 3rd party Star Wars stuff. He wasn't sure but offered that maybe it depends on how much a license holder feels it's threatening their business. His webpage is heavy with very authentic-looking Star Fleet graphics, I wonder if he just sold his stuff on a bare bones Etsy page and called his products "captain's chair" if he could get away with it. I also wonder if I PM him about it, if he'd be willing to whip me up a Quark's bar on the DL. (Yeah, baby. 3rd party, black market accessories for 30 year old, low-value action figures! That's living dangerously!)However, my enthusiasm is dampened by the fact that Paramount has decided to go after third party companies producing similar products, companies who no doubt have no real impact on Paramount's bottom line. Triple Fiction Productions received a cease and desist notice from Paramount. If you aren't familiar with them, they've done some awesome playsets and accessories (Playmates scale) and full-scale props for Star Trek over the years. It was plain to see that they guy who ran this company put his heart and soul into it, and I hate that Paramount is doing this. Expect other 3rd party companies producing similar products to follow, so if you want something, order it now, because you probably won't be able to later.
