Star Trek

I'm not sure I have the real-estate for a 40 inch diameter display, but this is indeed impressive if they can pull it off.
I'm sure I don't, but the modular nature sells me. Just having the captain's chair and conn pit for everyone to gather around is enough. Being able to add background seats for Uhura and Spock is a bonus.

Oh wow - this is very exciting! The TNG Bridge playset remains one of the best things a toy company ever released. :)

That might be smaller me peeking through, but that playset was incredible for what it was. I have the cardboard version of the TOS on display and TNG's was better. Always weird we never got a Voyager bridge. They had to go on the Engineering Playset.

Props to Nacelle - this sounds like fun and gets me excited again.

If you think about who they are releasing in Wave 3, there are spots for: Kirk in the chair; Chekov, Sulu at helm; Scotty, Spock and Uhura at their stations; Bones and Chapel standing at the Turbolift, and Rand behind/next to Kirk. But that leaves 3 seats (assuming the front three segments are seatless...) empty.

EDIT - I guess there are seats with sort of half-consoles on either side of the view screen, so may have 5 open seats...

Now I hope they make some generic red and yellow shirt crew member to fill it in with interchangeable heads. Maybe the 2-pack is this?

I dont feel a need for a full circle bridge. i suppose you can have a viewscreen but it would also just block your view of the crew.

I'm 99% with you on this. There's a teeny part of me, though, that wonders when I'll ever get another chance at a full playset and I probably should get the viewscreen just for reverse angle photography and at that point I might as well get them all.

And not for nothing, I want this to be a raging success so they'll keep doing other bridges and ship locations.

A TOS bridge has been the holy grail for me since Playmates showed their unreleased version 30 years ago. I have no idea where I'm going to put this, but I'm so in.

However, my enthusiasm is dampened by the fact that Paramount has decided to go after third party companies producing similar products, companies who no doubt have no real impact on Paramount's bottom line. Triple Fiction Productions received a cease and desist notice from Paramount. If you aren't familiar with them, they've done some awesome playsets and accessories (Playmates scale) and full-scale props for Star Trek over the years. It was plain to see that they guy who ran this company put his heart and soul into it, and I hate that Paramount is doing this. Expect other 3rd party companies producing similar products to follow, so if you want something, order it now, because you probably won't be able to later.

Yep, Paramount shut him down. He just announced it yesterday and I am bummed. I just asked him on FB what the difference is between his stuff and something like Stan Solo who does really good 3rd party Star Wars stuff. He wasn't sure but offered that maybe it depends on how much a license holder feels it's threatening their business. His webpage is heavy with very authentic-looking Star Fleet graphics, I wonder if he just sold his stuff on a bare bones Etsy page and called his products "captain's chair" if he could get away with it. I also wonder if I PM him about it, if he'd be willing to whip me up a Quark's bar on the DL. (Yeah, baby. 3rd party, black market accessories for 30 year old, low-value action figures! That's living dangerously!)

I have pics of my Triplefiction items two pages back, love his stuff, it's a real shame. His website is pretty much wiped out of product now, though. I'm grateful for the stuff I have.

As for the Nacelle bridge......that's great? But aren't we putting the cart before the horse? They just recalled wave one, we still don't know for sure what we will end up getting. The "fixed" examples I've seen online still don't look mind blowing to me, but we'll see. I hope it all works out for them. ( I've been ending every post I make about this line with that sentence, it seems.)
