I thought thats what AA did back when ENT was actually on air... which is why that sculpt looks so good.

Could the buy the scanning data from AA? that would be nifty!
 
I think he meant face printing. Scanning any actors now for old shows would probably result in the same melty-face we're seeing here. ;)

The AA scans surely do still exist somewhere - Paramount must have access to that. I wonder if they ever scanned the Voyager crew before they ended, or if Playmates scanned TNG for Nemesis - those Picard and Data figures had fantastic likenesses.
 
Hopefully they look better in hand or they aren’t done tweaking the production. The prototypes gave me high hopes. I figured the production figures would be a downgrade from the prototypes but I didn’t think they would be this much of a down grade. I feel bad for the guy an his company because this has got to be a lot of unforeseen costs. Hopefully they have these issues worked out before wave 2 goes into production.
 
I'll hold out hope that they can get better production results in future waves, but I've lowered my bar considerably on this wave.

It does make me want to wait for the actual product rather than pre-ordering future waves.

Janeway "Year of hell" though might be an exception... she should look extra "hellish"!
 
This might be a shock to some of you, but Amazon has indefinitely delayed series 1 of Nacelle Trek.
 
This is reminding me a bit of the Funko Legacy Firefly debacle - I was so excited for those, but the quality - and quality control - were atrocious. Fingers crossed that Nacelle gets these squared away.
 
I interrupt our fretting over the quality of the upcoming Nacelle ST toys to bring you a pic of my Playmates collection. I could put my limited number of Hot Toys figures into my one of two Detolfs, but I just like the look of my ST stuff in here so much. If you are like me and are at all inclined to sink money into this relatively worthless line of figures, I highly suggest the items from Triple Fiction Productions. I love my captains' chairs and con pieces they offer but they have a ton of other stuff as well.

Daaang. Bridge stations are such a great part of a Star Trek display. That would be another hit against 7" figures if Nacelle didn't appear to be so accessory happy.
