Star Trek

Somewhere I have the Lucas as Stormtrooper figure, the Jackson as Hobbit figure, the Henson as Muppet figure, the Spielberg as Director figure from the Jurassic Park line, plus Stan. So will maybe get Roddenberry and hope I can flip the Lucille Ball figure.

I’ve wanted a Gene Roddenberry figure since Palisades showed theirs years ago, and I’ll happily buy this set, but it would have been even cooler to put them both in era-specific Starfleet uniforms.

There are plenty of images/drawings of Ball in various TOS era uniforms.

For Roddenberry, there is an actual photograph of him wearing a tunic from the second pilot. The image was used in the original Star Trek Encyclopedia as Captain April. If Nacelle ever does a WNMHGB Kirk, I’m buying an extra for a head swap. Or maybe the DST version would work…

I kind of dig creator cosplay figures. Rod & Ball in their regular clothes don't interest me, but if, like scottg said, they'd been in show costumes, I might've gone for it.

I have the Lucas Trooper, the Favreau Mando and the Filoni Pilot, and I think they're a little bit of extra fun. Somehow I also wound up with Standor for the MotUC line which I guess is also weirdly fun, even though I don't know of how Stan Lee relates to He-Man.

I wasn't interested in a stand alone Stan Lee figure, but maybe if he'd have come in a Willie Lumpkin postman outfit I would've been more interested.

Infinite money I'd get an extra Kirk and Rand to body swap in for Rod and Ball (and then have "this planet seems to exactly mirror 1960s Earth" landing party outfits), but I'm very far from infinite money.

The video on Facebook suggested a typical suit for Roddenberry. I had forgotten Palisades had planned one...

I haven't bought many of these types of creator figures. I have both Stan Lees that Hasbro did. I have the NECA TMNT Kirby. I think I also have a George Lucas Stormtrooper. That's all that I can remember. I have no interest in the mentioned Star Trek 2-pack. I'm just not that big of a Star Trek guy.

I basically plan to buy all of Wave 3 and probably be done, although if they did a similar wave like that one for the original Next Generation crew, I'd probably buy that as well. It would be less likely if they only do one or two characters at a time across multiple waves.

The plan was mentioned a while back for Wave 5 to be the TNG crew, that they wanted to alternate between full bridge/main cast waves and assortment waves with variant looks and previously unmade (by Art Asylum/Diamond Direct) characters. Hope we get there...

I don't remember Palisades doing Star Trek. I did a quick search and don't think they released anything before AA got the license?

Did find this interesting story with photos of their proposed Kirk/Roddenberry set.

Yes, Palisades got the license and preorders went out for the Kirk and Roddenberry two-pack, but retailers weren't interested, and then they went bankrupt. There are some actual samples out there, they've popped up on eBay a few times.
