Spider-Man Retro 2026 Wave with Cardiac, Owl & Hypno Hustler

I assume they did it to not have a big horizontal cut breaking up the vertical EKG lines. The thoracic articulation is more tapered and overhangs the midsection, which makes the cut not as prominent and design-breaking, and the better choice to keep some movement in the torso without breaking up the design too much. Likewise, maybe the lower torso crunch would be too wide and interrupt the design.
And it would cost them less?

I'm not sure how, but I think a balljoint waist would solve this and every other articulation problem any ML has ever had ever.
Sure would.

And it would cost them less?
I suppose? The vast majority of male figures in ML do have a waist cut or ab crunch of some sort, which makes Cardiac an exception. I don't think it's being overly generous to look at his costume and think the lack of waist cut could have been a design choice rather than a cost-cutting measure. I feel the same way about Wong, where I very much think they made the right call by skipping the waist joint to preserve the look of his costume.

I'm in no hurry for this wave, so Amazon and Pulse can take their time. Pretty sure Amazon updated these to Jan 21 or so.

I went ahead and ordered the whole wave case that is now in stock and got 50% off the Joe Classified Hawk and the MMS using their buy one get 50% off, so that saved me $40. I would have just the ordered the figures individually but the only one that qualified for that deal was 2099. I'm glad to get this order in. I really wanted to include one of these figures in my Top 10 for the year!

Yeah I snagged a case and a $20 Strong Guy to go along with it. I wasn't going to get him for $40 but $20 is worth it for the accessories and upgrades.

Considering cancelling my Cardiac. I like the design, but am not a big Spiderman guy. Plus he seems like he'll end up in the Jack-O-Lantern camp of going on sale a few months after he's released.
