Spider-Man Retro 2026 Wave with Cardiac, Owl & Hypno Hustler

When Hasbro really tries and puts money into a sculpt... the results are pretty magical. Max DP vs the first release of that costume essentially. And I get it... we have gotten characters we'd never thought possible over the years. Unthinkable in the Toy Biz days of unique tooling for every release. The trade off of character selection is unfortunately some very phoned in releases. The line has made it 20-something years this way... but it looks like the current release models have put the BAF concept in very, very poor favor with many these days. Cardiac is just one of those figures you never believed was actually coming until they unveiled it... and they really did it justice.
 
Pretty sure Cardiac got a unique sculpt because of the hoops they had to jump through to do him. If a creator gets a say, makes total sense that person would want it done right. Especially after 30 years.

Now we have to wait and see who does get phoned in instead.

Ok, somebody explain this black suit spidey with a chain to me. (nvm, found it, seems it's from the recent Venom War).
 
The villains are the stars of this wave. All are must grabs. Although I do wish they had put more paint detail into HH’s guitar, that’s a very minor nitpick. It seems to me that this wave is going to be a good seller, and they should’ve taken advantage of so many desired characters, and included a BAF. Still. A good looking wave over all..
 
This is a pretty decent wave. I'll buy all of Cardiac, Hypno Hustler and The Owl happily! I'll buy Spidey 2099 begrudgingly as it doesn't seem like that much of an upgrade over the last retro carded version that we got. Pass on Venom-Spidey and I'll likely only buy Kurt Spidey if I find him discounted later although I like the BAMF effect.
 
Dang the Symbiote Spidey is the Venom War one, thats WAY better than the one from ASM 800 I thought we were getting again. And hey the unmasked head looks good!

Definitely in for this whole wave.
