Selling Toys - Horror Stories & "Happy" Customers

Heh, I've gotten over the "look at me like I'm an idiot" because I'm having too much fun remembering a quote. I laugh at myself more than anyone else does.

But I also have dumb stuff like... I know I moved to Poway in May of 2002 because I remember dropping off the last of the boxes before I went to see Attack of the Clones.
Oh, the fact they're looking at me like that doesn't bother me. The only small disappointment is thinking they'd know the reference and didn't. Once again, I prove my nerd superiority. 😅

You kidding? The only reason I remember half the stuff I do is because it aligns with the release of some sort of important nerdy thing. It probably makes me seem a lot more kind and caring than I really am in regards to other people's important dates.

I use them as the exact same benchmark. Even this hobby. It's all about how I remember that specific moment with all five senses and emotion.

Which is probably why I fall off some generic things like Mythic Legions without a personal investment to customize something.

The secret is they are the idiot and uncultured one because they don't know it. Dumbasses.

Me when dealing with those dumb idiots who don't know nerdy shit.

I haaaaaate people like that. Dealt with a few over the years, and it's just maddening. Half the time it's their own incompetence from not fully reading the listing. I get we all want a complete figure, and we all have it in our heads how we want to pose the thing, but be open-minded, for God's sake. You can easily buy a fodder batarang anywhere these days. Chances are, at least one will probably fall out of the figure's hands without him realizing and he'll lose it anyway- happens to me almost any time I pose with a smaller batarang.

Sorry you had to go through that, but kudos to you for going about it your way. I swear, the whole "the customer is always right" mindset has ruined us as a culture. It's not even the correct quote! But I digress....

You'll have to let us know if you hear back from him after he gets it.

Oh, 100%! He already let me know that he's withholding feedback until he gets the batarang lol

The best part is, if he had pushed the return angle then ebay probably would have sided with him, since it's hard to get them to side with you as the seller. But I took multiple pictures of this thing and sent them to him and asked him if sending it would make him whole, and he agreed. So if it arrives and it turns out to be the wrong batarang (which, hell, I suppose it could be lol), I'll have something to fight the return with. He was provided pictures and signed off on it, so good luck bitching and moaning now. Cost me $16 to mail a 5x5 padded envelope to him with 21+ signature confirmation lol Unreal.

I've learned never to leave any feedback unless the buyer already has left you good feedback. If you leave them good feedback beforehand the buyer is open to make all kinds of claims now that you've told Ebay that person is great all around!
