Roboskull MKII/Skeletron

I mean... they have fulfilled a whole bunch of it, including the vehicle- its just the one character they still have to finish And the figures I have from them thus far are great, so waiting a few more months for the final figure doesn't bug me.

I do kind of wish they would do the purple guy they have as a convention exclusive as a six inch figure and not just in 1/18.

Which means it’s gonna take 5 years for this Kickstarter to fulfill. Ridiculous

If the figures and vehicle were terrible when I got them I'd perhaps be more cross about it. But it's a small company and so far everything I've gotten has been above average quality. Kickstarters aren't pre-orders so I don't think of them with the same level of expectation. Would I like it sooner? Sure. Is it really ruining my day that I don't have one more toy? Nah.

I believe they still have a blank slate on the cardbacks for the 6" guys, no? Maybe it's coming down the road a smidge. Surely they aren't done with those molds.

Complaining a bootstrap toy company successfully and repeatedly delivers excellent product but not on the timescale you carved into your heart as the minimum when it was always the best-case 'wish for a reasonable dream' scenario of *absolutely*every*last*thing*going*perfect*the*first*chance*it*could*be*done*and*any*delay*or*impediment*is*an*outrage*of*incompetence* is what's ridiculous. Grow up.

"Bootstrap toy company" is a bit underselling Skeletron and Ben Conway.

Their product is great, but I paid for Skeletron 5 years ago. I think I have right to be a tiny bit annoyed that a product that had an estimated delivery date of May 2023 is gonna miss that delivery date by over 3 years. It's the long run times while also doing things like sponsoring race cars that's annoying.

Also the long wait times have put these figures into a weird spot. They're very much meant to match an aesthetic that isn't really used in Classified anymore (the Cobra Island style) and them being so late has meant that other companies like BigBadWorkshop have beat them to the punch on the other Red Shadows characters.

I will say, I also respect them not soliciting a bunch more product while they are stIll trying to finish fulfillment on their KS.

They don't want to be crticized for endless preorders while still waiting for old preorders to fulfill ala Super7, FMF/BBWS, or 4H and I can understand that.

Aren't those things independent of this kick? Like, let's say it all came out in '23, what would change about those other lines?

They are independent, but Crimson Moon probably kills interest in Skeletron figures of the Red Shadows Trooper or Baron Iron Blood.
And how does that affect this kick? See what I'm saying? Those are all independent concerns of your toy-buying habits, but they don't really have much to do with this offering.

It doesn't affect this offering, but the long fulfillment times have effected the potential of this line which in turn does kinda hurt these offerings because now they knida exist in a weird spot. They don't really match the other red shadows figures coming but the other line isn't doing these characters partially because these toys are coming.

I guess I never assumed I was pledging my money as a way to guarantee a full line. I was pledging for the thing they offered. If they said they were making more stuff, I'd pledge or not based on whether it looked good, not whether or not another line might've already done a stylistically distinct version.

How many people on this board have Wolverines from multiple different companies in the same scale? It just doesn't strike me as a huge problem compounding what is, so far, simply a long wait. I don't like waiting either, but I'm not judging this offering on some nebulous future it may or may not have. I'm judging it on the toys they promised and have delivered.

Also... I won't have any problem at all displaying my Roboskull Red Shadows figures alongside my Crimson Moon figures. I just hope somebody decides to deliver a 6 inch Goregills figure... FMF appear to have backed off, so hopefully the Roboskull folks can pull through
