One A Day 2.0: Day #295 - Daily Bugle Staff: Robbie Robertson, Betty Brant, Ned Leeds, Glory Grant, Ben Urich

So... I'm a huge fan of the NFL. American Football is by far my favorite sport to watch (European Football is a solid but distant second).

And I love Marvel Comics ALOT...

But, for me, these are not two great tastes that taste great together.

Super Pro was awful and dumb. One of my favorite running jokes on Twitter is Fabian Nicieza periodically chiming in on comics discussions to joke about his great addition to the Marvel Universe - Super Pro.

Do I want a figure. No. Could I really pass it by if they made one... probably also no.

Definite yes to Clay Quartermain in the Sternako look. I've seriously considered repainting one of the SHIELD agents and popping a new head on him...but I'm lazy.

NFL Superpro is so beyond ridiculous. American Football is not really my thing...I honestly feel the game is rather boring, so this character never really interested me. At the same time, I DO appreciate a good Mort, and damned if Superpro isn't the Mortiest of Morts! At today's prices, I don't think I'd spend the money on him just for a laugh, but if it was on a clearance rack or at a place like Ross or Ollie's, I'd probably pick him up.

Day #295 - Daily Bugle Staff: Robbie Robertson, Betty Brant, Ned Leeds, Glory Grant, Ben Urich

Would I buy? Yes, but Robbie is the only priority
Which version? Classic comic versions

I've only focused on a few of the Daily Bugle staff. Add your favorite if I didn't.

Yes! Classic comics versions of any and all of these characters would be super welcome. To me, Spidey's supporting cast is so key to his world and character that my shelves are kind of incomplete without them. Robbie and Betty Brant would take priority ... Betty's Peter Parker's first love, that should absolutely earn her a spot in the line. She predates all but like, four or five of Webhead's rogues' gallery. And Robbie Robertson is one of my favorite Marvel characters, broadly.

This would make an excellent SDCC set, especially in a diorama box shaped like the offices. Add a new Peter Parker if they feel like it needs an anchor. I'd also advocate for including Frederick Foswell/ the Big Man ... especially if it'd get the ball rolling on the Enforcers.

YES PLEASE! These are a big want from me. Robbie, Betty and Ben are all within my Top 30 wants overall in the line. Robbie specifically is Top 5. Betty is Top 15. Glory Grant is nowhere near that high, but I do want her also. The only one that I don't really care about is Ned as I've got him as Hobgoblin. Liz Allan is also a big want for me (Top 20) as a Spider-Man civilian character. Peter's story is so impacted by each of these characters that he just wouldn't be the same hero without each of their influence. For what it's worth I feel the same about Superman and key members of the Daily Planet staff.

Peter Parker's supporting cast are so important to his story and adventures they definitely need to be done. Agree they'd really work as a SDCC boxset or maybe a MTO. Like the Diorama idea, the Daily Bugle is certainly the most iconic workspace in Marvel, pretty much up there with DC's Daily Planet. Up for including all those mentioned. Would be cool to include Fred Foswell with an alternate Big Man head.

Definitely, also on board for the original Enforcers and Liz Allan. Would also add classic Flash Thompson and Harry Osborn as civilians.
